Lord Juco and Jamal Gasol reunite for a new EP called Casino Niagra, and hearing the two share mic duties makes me think of the Big Turk days. The two sounded great together back then and do so here now. The single Das Ruger has been out for a few weeks but I think it’s the best track off of the project so to highlight a piece and the whole I am sharing it. The production is subtle, yet ‘hypnotic’ as the emcees drop a pair of tight sixteens.
Daniel Son and Lord Juco backed by Finn? Yes…please! Chalk Brothers are in full effect and it sounds dope as we would expect. Finn laces the piano keys then brings in the drums to make that head nod with well placed excellence. And these flows play so nice off of each other. Smooth yet sharp really describes this joint. One day in the future we are going to need a Lord Juco and Daniel Son album.
But as it stands, Daniel Son and Finn have a new one coming and this is the first single. Hare Brained Schemes coming soon (well actually in a couple of months so not too soon)!
The incomparable duo of Cousin Feo and Lord Juco take us to the fields of war torn Ukraine for their latest release as Death At The Derby. With production from Graymatter and cuts from DJ Dubplates, we get an introduction to Ukrainian soccer lore courtesy of hip hop’s afficionados.
Producer Circa 97 (out of Poland I think) just dropped this song with the King Of Cool (at least that’s my moniker for him), Lord Juco. He couldn’t have picked a better artist to feature on this beautiful production. This just defines smooth. This vocal sample is glorious.
So if you are feeling this, then for sure you are going to enjoy his new project dropping in May, Opera House Shootouts.
Only truths out of my mouth / Only love in my house…
More soulful hip hop from Lord Juco, and this time backed with some production by Sibbs Roc. It’s short but really sweet. You get one sixteen, that’s really impossible to put into a quotable because Juco’s style is so interwoven within the bars. So you will just have to trust me with two minutes of your life on this one.
The smooth vibes of Lord Juco and Finn once again commence on the track, Wheel Of Fortune, off of the Company II EP. It’s the soulful introspection we have come to expect from this collaboration. Enjoy!
Lord Juco and Finn crafted one of my favorite albums of 2021 in Details. It has such a melodic and conversational vibe and you can definitely hear that with the diner talk on Gift Of Gab.
The album is an opus to me in that it’s very unique in concept and in the talent demonstrated. I think it will stand the test of time and people will revisit this album with an “oh wow” perspective. Don’t sleep.
Lord Juco and Finn just released their collaborative album, Details, on Golden Era last week. It becomes available on DSP this week. And this is just a meager taste of the soulful vibe that is put on display from the two artists for you. As Juco flips on the comfortability of being around the ones he loves, and love him over some crooning vocal samples. Definitely something to check!
Lord Juco and Finn link up for a project called Details, which drops November 5th, and Fine Print is a single off of that project. The joint is very subdued and poignant with how Juco addresses life and circumstance and his place. Lyrics like this really resonate with me.
I talk people off the edge, while I stood adjacent / Only thing that keeps me sane is love and patience
Lord Juco teams up with Daniel Son to rock over some mellow, yet jazzy production from FInn. Just all around dope flows and music.
Juco and Finn have a bigger project in the works so stay tuned for that.
