This is what the world needed right now…K-Beta connecting with DJ J-Scrilla for this fire yet, deeply personal and introspective track. Which really, in turn, makes it even more personal. This make is some extremely powerful material that Beta is talking about here, and Scrilla utilizing this Styx loop over these drums really conveys the point.
Can’t wait to hear more.
C-Rayz Walz, independent hip hop artist, and legend if you ask me, has a new project out, Bad Fame: Music To Run With. The project dropped a few days ago, and it’s really dope. But in particular I am enamored with this J-Scrilla produced gem that features, Echo 1, Dro Pesci, and Oktober Zero. It’s just a banging track and that snaking sample Scrilla uses is sooooo on-point!
Sketch McGuiney paying some homage to the cinematic title that celebrates it’s 30 year anniversary this year. Of course, this track is not quite as laid back as the movie. McGuiney gets abrasive and gritty with this joint. The beat, the scratching, and the lyricism are all on high levels of sinister.
New album coming out in May…dope!
Third video released from N.B.S.’ latest album, The Smokefest. The production on the track is handled by Scrilla Ventura so we can just check this track off as being ‘certifiable’. This is one of the best tracks off of the latest release, which I encourage you all to peep. It gets no realer.
Man, the homie J-Scrilla aka Scrilla Ventura is always sending me some dope music that he concocts with some dope emcees. This time he hits me with a track/video that he creates with Bo Jankans called Wicked Looking Gun. The track is demented enough that I enjoyed it thoroughly. The video and storyline keeps you interested. The beat from Ventura keeps you on that razor’s edge. It’s kind of like a home-brewed cup of evil. And Jankans’ ability is an emcee can’t be undersold. The man can narrate a story, and even though this is the first I have heard from him I will be checking for his new project The MotorMouth EP.
J-Scrilla and K-Beta are two of my favorites and when they combine it’s an absolute win. I really hadn’t given Uptown XO a chance but the more I hear, the more I like. This cut is off of J-Scrilla’s upcoming album, Reel High.
K-Beta is coming back with a vengeance! Now, overall I prefer that joint Pakistan that we talked about a few weeks ago, but this joint surely is solid. A new album from K-Beta by the end of this year seems like a real possibility. And when it drops…it will be considered a necessity!
Oh you forgot how dope K-Beta is? Wake up. Thisis yet another J-$crilla produced banger and K-Beta annihilates every bar. His new album Niggas Know is in the works but I don’t have a release date or an approximation, but you will want to stay tuned.

Here is another album where I thought that the release date would never come. The lead single and title track dropped all the way back in May, but just last week we got ourselves the full length. The album is seventeen tracks in length with a couple of skits thrown in . In those fifteen actual songs there is a lot of dope rhymes and beats provided by Sketch and J-$crilla respectively.
Aaaaah hell! The DMV is not stopping! This is one of my favorite tracks so far this year. Sketch is new to me but he does mass amounts of damage on microphones. J-Scrilla is not to me and you would have to be deaf not to feel this one. The visuals dropped a couple of weeks ago but I was out of commission. so enjoy. Also be on the lookout for that album in July. I am really looking forward to it.
