Single You Out: Tenacity x J57 x Deejay Element – Get Down (prod. by Exile)

I was just wondering what Tenacity was up to after listening to one of his fantastic albums the other day.    Well, now I know!  He’s rocking mics with J57 over a funky and fresh beat from Exile with scratches applied by Deejay Element.    It’s honestly amazing to me how remarkable Exile is behind the boards.   This track feels ‘stripped down’ but there is still so much going on.

Great music!

Single You Out: Allen Poe – Still Eatin (ft. Deejay Element)

Another “oh shit” moment that I had today was when I heard this new joint from Allen Poe and Deejay Element, which happens to be the title track from their forthcoming project dropping on June 9th.

First off this beat is one of the sickest I have heard this year or perhaps even the last.   It’s soulful.  It’s funky.  It’s that boom bap.  If this cut doesn’t get you open, you don’t have a pulse homie. And the verbals that Poe is dropping in his verses are legitimate jewels.   The Frodo wordplay was just one of many notable moments during the track.  I am anxious to hear this entire project.   A possible Top 10 track for this year, ya heard?

Single You Out: Koncept – Give It Up (ft. Reks)

KON10_REKSingle_130113

This single comes live and direct from Koncept’s Malt Disney project as a bonus cut. I am assured this project will be mind blowing.  If this song is any indication, we are on the right track for that sentiment.

This cut features Reks and is a little on the funky side with Deejay Element operating behind the boards.   Very dope.

Brown Bag AllStars – 2012: A Year In Review

BBAS01_CDCredits_301212

This is another great sampling of the Brown Bag AllStars musical prowess from 2012.  I own most of these tracks already but I know I am exception to the rule, so make sure you get on DLing this and passing the link to a friend.  There are so many dope jams on here, everyone is sure to find a favorite.

Single You Out: Soul Khan – Not Like That (ft. Akie Bermiss)

Soul Khan keeping it consistent by releasing this bonus track from the upcoming Psalm EP coming out December 11th on http://soulkhan.com. The track was originally slated to be on Wellstone but didn’t make it on that EP. This new project is going to be produced entirely by Abnormal.   So be on the lookout for that.   Meanwhile, this track continues to display the chemistry between Soul Khan and Akie Bermiss who consistently put out great songs.
