This song is for people who used to be down but have since abandoned ship because you were just too real. We all have had people in our lives like that and Kosan and SGT Over represent those thoughts over a very chill Cardiak. production. This cut can be found off of his forthcoming, American Ninja Mixtape.
Just Putt has the ill combination of having a voice that can deliver an ill chorus and drop some slick word play. My evidence is the track Hunan Beef prod by Ness Thi. The guy can go right from a harmony into spitting some ill lines. His project The Knew Art Movement is due out 1st qtr 2014.
True to my commitment to post more projects on HHD (minus the lengthy review) I bring you the newest EP from SGT. Over, School Of Hard Knoxx. This project is short coming in at under 15 minutes but it’s really meant as a teaser for what is yet to come. What that is, is his forthcoming album, Big Music, from which we have already showcased cuts featuring, Ras Kass and Ransom. That album is going to be fully loaded and will drop in early 2014. But in the meantime enjoy this moment in time produced by Knoxx. The whole thing is certified but I am especially feeling the track, Sarge. That one really sets the tone for what I think SGT Over is about.
SGT. Over ain’t even close to being done. He is hustling hard and now he’s really stepping up the feature game by including one of my all time favorite emcees, Ras Kass. That actually takes a lot of guts, because Ras will son a lot of people who invite him on the mic, but Sarge does what he always does and he elevates his flow and lyrics to new heights to the point where he shines just as bright. BasementBeatz laces the emcees with a hype, uptempo production that proves an ample canvas for the duo to craft their rhymes.
New SGT. Over is always a good thing, this time featuring Just Putt on the chorus. The production comes from Knoxx. There’s nothing not to like about this cut. It’s got solid production, content, and Just Putt adds his unique flavor to that chorus. Add the joint to your collection!
Here’s another track I have missed by the DPSMG. This single is coming off of SGT. Over’s Precious Jewels release and features the usual suspect Just Putt and hip HOFer, Sadat X. Just more good music for the people!
This was of course released a few weeks ago, but as I was incognito for a moment, it did not get posted. DPS is fam in these parts as the crew consistently drops dope tracks so it’s little more than a guarantee that their music always wind up on HHD. This track from SGT. Over doesn’t seem to be destined for any project in particular. It’s simply a track that lets him distinguish himself from the rest of the pack over a Knox produced track. He’s just flexing the skills and that’s OK by me.
Sgt. Over drops a video for High On Life, which can be found on his most recent album, Precious Jewels. This time the emcee drops that certified smooth ish. We all need to smooth it out from time to time. Cop the album…
Some visual treatment given to this track off of Sgt. Over’s Precious Jewels album. It’s hard to compete with a flow like this. This joint is from DPSMG signee, Toke. Dead Poet Society has been in my music rotation since their self-titled EP. They always drop some material so I wanted to check this new artist out. Truthfully, a minute and thirty seconds is not a good enough listen, but what I did hear I liked. I just wish it was a full length cut so I could see what he was truly capable of. But we will keep our eyes and ears open.
