Whatever moniker these guys put out their music under, Futurewave, Asun Eastwood, and Daniel Son only drop gems. Ever since they got their sound out a few years ago, their names stay ringing. And we all keep close tabs on when they are going to drop their next projects. So now we have Bite The Bullet, a subsequent offering from last year’s joint, Physics Of Filth (which I still bump steadily). It’s potent material that hip hop fans are going to be sure to love.
Daniel Son x DJ Duke x DJ Low Cut – Long Season (Prod Dj Low Cut) (Video)
New collaborative project, Season 7, from Toronto based rhyme slinger, Daniel Son, and French producers DJ Duke and DJ Low Cut. And if you are familiar with just ONE of these artists, you know this project is going to knock. I am well versed in all three, and so copping the project was a no brainer.
Right now, there is few hotter than Daniel Son and he continues on his roll working in the sounds of the boom bap from Duke and Low Cut. So check the cut and the cinematics, then purchase the album!
Single You Out: Dark Arts – Coke War (ft. Daniel Son x Asun Eastwood x Scott G)
Here’s a hot one from producer, Dark Arts, that has a really cool vibe to it. The piano keys pace the slow key drums. I can definitely vibe with it and the emcees, Daniel Son, Asun Eastwood, and Scott G deliver some gold over the rhythm. Everyone should be feeling this one!
Daniel Son x Futurewave – More Grabba (ft. Rigz x Rob Gates) (Video)
Daniel Son and Futurewave continue to chef off of their last album, Yenaldooshi. We now have the video single, More Grabba, featuring Rigz and Rob Gates. If you aren’t already up on the album and the squad I just feel bad for you.
…we aint helping nobody swim…we let em’ all drown…
Daniel Son x Futurewave – Waffle Brunch (Video)
Daniel Son and Futurewave have killed it yet again with their recent album collaboration, Yenaldooshi. This album is full of gems just like this. Futurewave layers some mellow and boom bap for Daniel Son to put out something memorable with lines just like this. He’s always in the pocket:
“Maybe you’ll get signed if you tag Conway a hundred times…”
“It’s a sad sight….the devil wouldn’t buy your soul for half price…”
“Gave your life to this shit…and then the shit forgot ya…”
Daniel Son x Futurewave – Poppy Resin (Feat. Al Divino) (Video)
Let me let you in on a secret…Daniel Son and Futurewave are the best combination doing it right now. They hit on all cylinders when they chef up some new music. Whether you listen to Pressure Cooker or Physics of Filth, you will recognize the high degree of talent and chemistry that exists.
Poppy Resin is just the tip of the iceberg off of their new album, Yenaldooshi, which I have listened to twice at the point with more listens to come. There is a brilliant darkness here that needs to have a constant light shed on it. Al Divino lends his grimy approach to this particular track and it is indeed flames.
Daniel Son x Futurewave – Old Soul (Video)
Daniel Son and Futurewave are out there cheffin’ it up again! This is one of those great collaborations that have shown themselves in the last couple of years. Consistently dope music from both emcee and producer. Really hoping this dopeness is in a prelude to a new album coming.
Single You Out: Jay Royale – Horse Head (ft. Daniel Son)
Jay Royale links up with Daniel Son for this haunting tune produced by Finn. It’s eerie and threatening in simultaneous fashion. Dopeness that i hope to hear on someone’s forthcoming project.
Daniel Son & Futurewave – Cold Chicken (Video)
The ill combination of Daniel Son and Futurewave is back at it again. The track Cold Chicken is short sweet and oh so smooth. Enjoy!
BrownBagMoney x Da Cloth – Carnation Milk (Video)
This is a current Dream Team right here! BrownBagMoney connects with Da Cloth over a Futurewave beat, and then the world just catches aflame. That’s how hot this shit is! Rigz, Saipher Soze, Daniel Son, and Mooch drop salvo after salvo of street lyricism that will have you yearning for more. This is a combination that needs let’s say a 16 track opus. A few posse cuts…each artist having their own track…all over some Futurewave production. That has all the trappings of classic.
A guy can dream can’t he?
