Single You Out: Armageddon – Nightmares (Shawneci)

“1000 spiders, voodoo chants, choppers, and Salvador Dali on a Molly”….What do any of these seemingly randon things have to do with eachother. Nothing really, but Terror Squad Alumni Armageddon has married these oddities together to create something diabolical for the fans. Geddy releases his latest track, ‘Nightmares’.

The song threatens to take you into the deepest recesses of Geddy’s mind to explore his brooding perception of today’s Hip Hop that will leave you there with foreboding visages of blood stained pavements and things that lurk in the shadows. The eerie production from Shawneci serves as a guide through those dark passage ways we seldom want to wander while our emcee litters the track with sinister but truly exceptional wordplay.”

Poison Man – Armageddon (Video)

First off Poison Man is composed of Meta P, Mayhem, and DJ John Gotem.   Secondly this music and video is too ill.  This is actually the second feature for Mayhem of the day which rarely happens for any artist.  It just happens when great talent and good timing combine.  The beat by Al Gees sounds apocalyptical which suits the sound just fine.   I am excited to hear what the team has in store for an album.  Dope styles abound!

DJ Brans – Worldwide ft. M-Dot and Armageddon (Video)

I brought you the single last week and now I bring you the visuals and all I can say is…WOW.  This cut is dope and this video is on par with music.  I love what they did with the lighting in the hand gestures.  The whole concept of a pseudo battle taking place between these two very ill emcees is a good look.  It would be cool to do a whole album as such. DJ Brans album BRANStorm is dropping this year and if this cut is any indication, I will definitely be copping.

Note:

I listened to this EP before bed last night and literally I couldn’t go to sleep for hours because these five tracks had me so amped.  These cuts from Armageddon are absolutely flawless.  It’s the perfect EP.   If you love that intelligent hip hop over those boom bap beats, you are going to love the return of Armageddon.   I haven’t heard from this artist in what would seem like a decade. Usually when an artist resurfaces it is with mixed results, but Armageddon has bucked that trend with an awe inspiring effort.
