Man, I love this reworking of a classic! You’ve got K-Rino joining Ras Kass trading verses over an Apollo Brown reworking of the Diamond D classic remix of the original which is a sacred treasure of mine and many.
I really do love the addition of K-Rino to the track as he is one of the illest emcees, and also amongst the most underrated. His bars here are primo. Respect!

Apollo Brown and Joell Ortiz have a new collaborative album out called Mona Lisa which is quite dope. This track, Cocaine Fingertips, is not just given the video treatment, but more or less the cinematic treatment. Brown drops a tight beat in stealth mode with Ortiz painting some ill lines with his super refined flow, all mingled in this video between a Pablo Escobar-esque story line.

Well, we have another awesome collaborative project involving Apollo Brown. This time he is linking up with Joell Ortiz creating a haunting piece for the latter to question the various decisions to make in life and the intended consequences. This song sounds fantastic. I am really excited about this.

Apollo Brown and Locksmith launch the second single from their forthcoming album, No Question. The unison of Brown and Lock is that of deep seeded soul colliding with profound lyrical talent. The realness in this song, this album, and this group, really relates to people. There is such a human element to everything they do. They are humbling and at the same time motivating. As a listener and a fan they always inspire me especially during difficult times.

Verbal Kent is back with the backing of Apollo Brown and Freddie Gibbs for his new single, Suitcase Switch. The production from Apollo Brown is absolutely beautiful. It’s got so much soul packed into the span of four minutes. Kent and Gibbs do an admirable job spitting some nice bars with their own divergent styles. Kent keeps a rapid delivery while Gibbs relies on a more methodical approach to rocking the mic. It all comes together nicely.
Verbal Kent’s new album, Anesthesia, drops on September 11th.
We all are highly anticipating Ras Kass and Apollo Brown’s release, Blasphemy. It should be a truly great effort when it comes down to it. These two gentleman are too talented to produce anything less than something outstanding. The cut Giraffe Pussy is another lead up to the project which is due out in a couple of weeks on October 28th and features some prominent names in Bishop Lamont, Xzibit (just does the hook), and Royce The 5’9″.
When Apollo Brown and Ras Kass first announced their collaborative album, Blasphemy (due out Oct 28th), it instantly became one of the most anticipated albums for 2014. H2O is the first single from the project and this should put all heads on notice. It’s a smooth and soulful offering featuring incredible lyricism. You would be hard pressed to find something as dope as this track out now. Enjoy!
