Evidence lets loose another video single from his album, Unlearning, Vol 1. This is one of my favorite cuts from the album as it has a touch of angst and darkness that is in part made possible by the one and only V Don and his production talents. The production style really suits Evidence which is scant on drums but heavy on depth. The way the guitar lends itself for Evidence to drop the truth of his life an perspective.
Single You Out: Freshman Woes – More Rap Dudes (ft. Blu x Planet Asia x MED)
I didn’t feel enough people were given this project from Freshman Woes enough shine and I thought I should do something about that. This is my favorite joint from this dope producer album, Thank The Rap Gods, that recently dropped. I love the heavy funk driven track and the line up of emcees that grace it’s presence in, Blu, Planet Asia, and MED.
This may not be a song that was originally crafted in 2021 but it’s definitely going to be in my “Best Of” list by years end. It’s too strong and dope to be ignored.
The whole project is diverse and has an original knock to it. I strongly recommend you check out what Freshman Woes has going on.
Bub Styles x Spit Gemz – Larger Canvas (prod. Farma Beats) (Video)
Bub Styles tags in Spit Gemz to spit some fire bars over this Farma Beats production. And this union of talent creates some serious fire from Styles forthcoming album, Budhini: Escape Artist, dropping on September 3rd. This is the kind of joint that gets the streets in an uproar so stand up and salute!
Single You Out: Ives – On The Rise (ft. Ren Thomas & Daniel Son)

Dope single from Ives featuring the hitters, Ren Thomas and Daniel Son, with the highly respected and talented DJ Eclipse on the cuts. Talented artists are not taking “no” for an answe in their careers and on this song. Strong drums, resilient lyricism, and top choice cuts keep this collection of artists…On The Rise.
Recognize Ali – I Am The Light (Video)
I listened to Recoginize Ali’s album, Recognize The Light, in it’s entirety yesterday. and this single really typifies the vibe of the entire album. It has such a soulful element about it, yet knocks relentlessly with big beats, tight scratches, and Ali’s hard hitting lyricism. This joint is produced by Karnate. Definitely need to check out the project.
Fatt Father – Stick To The Script (Video)
We’ve been showcasing Fatt Father and his new album, Soccer Dad, for a couple of months right now because it’s just that damn good. When you listened to this Foul Mouth infused production, it’s like these guys invented the phrase “real talk”. You just get that healthy dose of sincerity with every cut and you can especially hear that on the track Stick To The Script.
Single You Out: Big Twins – Cannoli (ft. Ransom x Mooch)
New single from the talented and revered Big Twins featuring two of the most talented guests you will ever find on a track in Ransom and Mooch. DJ Woool provides this dope soundscape and I love to hear these three diverse flows and voices on a track. This is a really strong introduction to Twins forthcoming album, Still Here which is dropping next Friday. That is again what we call an….auto-cop.
Rigz – Beach Chairs in Marcy (ft. Mooch) (prod by Chup) (Video)
Rigz and Mooch is THE combination in my mind and when Da Cloth gets together on a track…it’s a wrap for everyone. The polish and the skills are on display for everyone to see on the Chup produced, Beach Chairs In Marcy. The refinement is evident in the level in which these artists are writing and performing at.
If you haven’t check out the album, Wake Ups, yet…please make sure you do. Right now, it’s at the very LEAST a Top 5 album of the year in my humble opinion…at least.
It’s cool to be the one they ain’t seen in a while / Fuck what you had or what you did if they ain’t feeing you now
Single You Out: Jay Kinser – Clockwork (ft. M-Dot)
Jay Kinser and M-Dot showcase some skills just like it was…well…Clockwork. The two make it look so easy over this Silly Grinn beat. It’s exceptionally tight bar work between the two emcees, which means I will be on the lookout for more music from Jay Kinser, in addition to following M-Dot’s releases. (of course) Massachussetts in the building! Enjoy!
RedRum – Gladiator Sport (Video)
When I did my album review of , The Messiah Complex, this was one of the tracks I featured in that article. This is a tough track laced by Da Supastarz the RedEye and Racks (RedRum) simply body. The exchange of bars here just drives the track and the visual element of a B-Boy battle, just gives that additional hip hop perspective to the Gladiator Sport.
Make sure you check out the review and the album!
