Paradime – Period. (Video)

A lot of people are saying it, and I am just going to reiterate it…it’s been a long time since we’ve seen Paradime’s talent, and it’s so good to see him back at this craft he is so excellent at. I listen to his project, Breaking Beauregaurd, often enough because there are so many joints that knock heavy on that.

Then recently I heard the track, The Reign, and was completely blown away. He’s back!!! And THAT is a top ten track this year.

Now, we have word that a new album, Period., dropping on Mello Music on September 22nd. And this is the video for the title track. And you can hear the raw, no nonsense, wordplay from a man who bleeds Detroit hip hop through and through. Strip down beat from Pig Pen, scratches from DJ Los, and the rawness of Paradime.

Skanks the Rap Martyr – Double Cross Ranch (ft. Ruste Juxx & Ren Thomas) (Video)

A new video for one of my favorite track from Skanks The Rap Martyr. This joint has always been a standout with hard hitting production from DJ Kanzer, and guest bars from Ren Thomas and Ruste Juxx. So many great bars on this joint, with a few of my favorite artists, but Skanks’ verse has so many gems in it. This is one of my favorite verses ever because of how much truth he inflicts here.

…but that’s a privilege still / some’ll set you up and get you killed / fake love will fuck you up way more than trust ever will / for real take it from the Martyr / so don’t say that I didn’t warn ya / just cuz they in your circle don’t mean them n*@#as in your corner / I ain’t hating on dudes my n*@#a I’m just stating the truth / but the truth sounds like hate to people who hate the truth / so let me teach you what I was taught when I was younger / never burn long term bridges for short term hunger

Don’t sleep! Skanks’ pen game is elite. You can actually find Double Cross Ranch on the 2021 project, M.O.S.T.

Boot Camp Clik – Wotcha Call Strength (Video)

This is just special! The Boot Camp Click back together again, and delivering their sound with ‘strength’. They are picking up right where they left off decades ago with an incredibly hard hitting song, Wotcha Call Strength.

Ruste Juxx starts it off with one of the toughest verses of the year, then followed by an equally vicious bevy of bars from Rockness Monsta. And it doesn’t stop there and just continues to the very last bar.

The Arcitype laces the perfect beat for this posse cut. Top Notch from the opening bell.

Premiere: M-Dot – The Atonement (prod. by Pete Rock) (Video)

M-Dot gave me the privilege to be able to debut his new video for the Pete Rock produced heater, The Atonement, off of his recently released album, egO anD The eneMy 2: A Dissolute Paradise.

M-Dot has that knack for making music that connects a listener to the artist, often hitting on topics that so many of us can relate to. But every once in a while, a man needs to flex what differentiates him from the rest of us. And hence we have The Atonement, which is unabated lyrical tenacity unleashed over a gritty Pete Rock beat.

The quotables can’t be extrapolated when they are woven together this tightly, which really showcases M-Dot’s gifts as an emcee.

Gritty video. Gritty sound. Supreme talent. Perfect Blend.

Speaker Bullies (Supastition & Praise) – Godspeed (ft. Skyzoo) (Video)

What else can I speak on about this song? We featured the single last week and this week we get the video. It’s one of the dopest joints out from 2023, which makes the forthcoming album, Art Of Disrespect (due out July 7th) one of the most anticipated of the year. Between this cut, and their single Bad Rap, the Speaker Bullies are building a buzz that’s impossible to ignore. Again featuring an amazing verse from Skyzoo, Supastition and Praise are doing something remarkable.

New Villain & Enkay – Sword Of Damocles (Video)

This joint is featured as an interlude on New Villain and Enkay’s new project, From The Villain With Love II. But this makes for a dope song and video.

I’ve purchased a few New Villain projects within the last year and the man has high ceiling as an artist. Nice flow, excellent wordplay, great mic presence, and seemingly works with some excellent beatsmiths. And Enkay delivers on the production portion here, lacing some heat.

Dope track.
