I am not going to joke with you. This song is just a dope sampling of what the entire project by the same name yields. I love the production and the lyricism embraced by all the contributors here. This is really great music to start off 2012.
Single You Out: SmCity – MR. IDGAF ft. Oddisee & Phil Ade

I love the production on this track. Oddisee put together a banger with Mr. IDGAF. It’s a little bit orchestral, it’s solemn in some spots, and it knocks in others. Really great work on the boards. The emcees all deliver better than average efforts on the mic. This song is off of the SmCity project, the Indie Life: Hate, Love & Money album that drops on DJ Booth in just a couple of days. Enjoy…
Single you Out: Planet Asia – Golden State

One of the most consistent voices in Hip Hop, Planet Asia, brings you his first single from the forthcoming album, Black Belt Theatre. Golden State is layered in that 70s funk which, as I understand it, is the whole theme for the album. I am always down for Planet Asia material. He’s a model of consistency.

Note:
I first became familiar with Rozewood a little over a year ago when I heard the cut, Prelude To A Funeral, off of his 2012 release. I really loved that cut and I have been listening to this emcee ever since.
Now to project at hand: Neon Paradise is a unique project because I feel like the the production and the emcee are divergent. What I mean by that is for the most part, the production throughout the album is laid back, subtle, and sometimes muted. Typically you would think that type of style would favor a laid back emcee, but Rozewood bucks that notion. He has a powerful delivery that is reminiscent of KGR. The production and the emcee really wind up gelling well on the album. He bodies the beat numerous times on this album.
Fresh Vetz – Dope Addictz (Video)
This cut is off of Fresh Vetz’s latest release, Fresh 2 Def. Regrettably I have not copped this album yet but what I have heard sounds really good. It’s also gotten a lot of acclaim from the likes of DJ Premier. This joint is hot so I need to look into purchasing as should you.
Single You Out: Little Vic x CP – Running Circles

I have a rule of thumb, any music from Little Vic, is good music. This song just proves the rule. The production from Hakan is fairly laid back while CP and Little Vic trade verses. CP has the more laid back delivery while Little Vic comes in with a quicker cadence. I can’t wait to hear another album from Little Vic. It has been way too long.
Juan Deuce – Krill Pill (Video)
I don’t know if I have seen a more bizarre and random video. It definitely catches your attention and holds it until the final minute. It has a little everything in it. Juan, half-naked in an indian head-dress, a woman dressed in a mask shaves a strip in his chest, takes off her top and then blows him up. Make sense? That’s the point!
This song will be dropping off of the Free Shabazz project dropping sometime next week.
Single You Out: Awkword – Thank You (A Tribute To My Mommy)

Awkword giving you some heartfelt rhymes regarding the inspiration his mother has provided him in his life. Music is a powerful tool and Awkword harnesses that power to pay tribute to the woman who gave him birth. The song is made more meaningful because his mom recently passed away due to Cancer. So this post goes up on HHD with a prayer to accompany it.
Single You Out: M-Dot – Mama b/w Beautiful

More dope hip hop coming from the EMS frontman, M-Dot. These cuts are nothing coming off of the RUN MPC Remix album that dropped late last year. These tracks feature some other dope artists, like Akrobatik, Keith Murray, and Punchline. These tracks are dope but the whole album is worth copping so why stop there…check out the music and then support by putting some money down on the album.
Single You Out: M-Dot and Revalation – Christmas Broke
Artist of the year, M-Dot and EMS cohort Revalation rock over this Norman Cratez beat. I love the Bad Santa samples that are used with the production. M-Dot and Rev do what they do best..rips mics.
