I need to focus more on this Vancouver artist, e.d.g.e. This artist just gets it. He’s going to be different and keep kids guessing and that’s a refreshing mentality. I like the on and off beat style of the video. I listened to his latest project, Destroy & Rebuild and was really impressed.
Okwerdz & Dirtbag Dan – Hate Me Cuz I’m Great (Video)
The battle rap scene can be a very fickle arena and very polarizing place. I am sure Okwerdz and Dirtbag Dan are very aware of that fact but what we might forget is that these guys can make dope music. Now, for a few minutes, you can remember that before you resume hating or loving…whichever is your choice.
Layne Harper – Medicine Cabinet (Video)
Layne Harper drops one of the heaviest, yet dopest videos of 2012. This track has a lot of heart to it and in all likelihood we all know someone who has an addiction that’s hurting themselves. Medicine Cabinet is a look not only into the ill of drug use but mortality as well.
Single You Out: Con-Man – Pipe Dreams
Con-Man goes in over a DJ Low Cut instrumental and talks about the ‘pipe dreams’ of other artists. He presents a realistic portrayal of what’s going on around him. DJ Low Cut laces a bluesy sample to give this joint some twang. All around good music.
His whole album, New England Minute is also available to listen to and download and is complete produced by DJ Low Cut.
Sycksyllables – Gun On Me (Video)
This is a hard, hard cut. I don’t know anything about gun talk and this video is a little bit out of my league but the music was hot. Sycksyllables has a slick flow that I will be checking for in the future.
B.A.D. Company – Deep In The Canvas (Video)
This is my second favorite song from B.A.D. Company’s latest album, Bars and Drums. The concept for the video is really dope and DJ Limegreen’s beat is like an adrenaline rush.
Wax – Rosana (Video)
I loved this song when it dropped off of his most current mixtape, Eviction Notice. Now it gets the hilarious video treatment. So to sum it up, Wax made a great song even better by putting a fun and comedic twist to the video. Some of you artists should be taking notes…

Veteran Assassins- Paint The Town Red (Video)
This is definitely worth a post or maybe two. Really dope flows and Scifi Stu on the beats.Their album, Paint The Town Red just dropped two days ago and on the strength of this joint I am going to have to cop it. Really great debut .
