Single You Out: The My.N.O.R.S. – Make It By (ft. Chaundon)

Nice beat.  Good word play.  Chaundon.  And A nice chorus to tie it all together.  Not a bad debut in my eyes when listening to My.N.O.R.S. single, Make It By.   It’s actually pretty refreshing.  There’s been a shortage of well construed songs this month and these guys answered the call.  I particularly like the way the producer, DP incorporated the bongo/congo instrumentation.

Single You Out: JR&PH7 – Until It’s All Said And Done (ft. Skyzoo x Sean Price)

The production duo of JR&PH7 have been busy in the lab in 2012.  They had the St. Joe Louis and Brokn.Englsh EP, they dropped another project, and now they have this single featuring Skyzoo and Sean Price.    That’s a lot of heat in one year.  The beat on this is top notch and you even get two verse from Sean P which I will count as a bonus.  This cut is definitely memorable.  Tune in…The Good Life is dropping this year….

Single You Out: DJ K.O. – Stand Up! (ft. Silent Knight, Jered Sanders, Justin Bates, K-Hill, East, MadKem)

There are many artists that deserve your support, but perhaps none so more, as DJ K.O.  You remember DJ K.O. right?  He’s the man who helped bring you over 5o dope hip hop tracks for FREE last year.   He is also the man who dropped one of the illest albums from a producer…ever.  Picture This dropped in 2008 and featured countless dope producers and emcees and now he is back, four years later with his sophomore effort…EMPBeTheTeam.

This track definitely has the funky factor behind it and brings the entire Elementality team so check the cut, and then make sure to cop the album when it drops.

Single You Out: Cashus Flow – Light It Up (ft. Mike Zoot x El Da Sensei)

My man Praverb hooked us up when he sent over this joint.  First off I enjoy any production from DJ Spinna.  He doesn’t seem to produce much hip hop anymore but does not disappoint when he does.  For me this track is a blending of old and new.  Mike Zoot, El Da Sensei, and DJ Spinna have been around for a while and I am new to the styles of Cashus Flow.  But the latter actually drops the best verse in my mind.  I am looking forward to hearing more from this artist.  His new album, Lamplighter’s Delight drops this month.

Artist Spotlight: Serge Severe (2012)

Usually when I hear an artist for the first time I am rarely left with an impression.  I would say less than 20% of artist submissions wind up on HHD nonetheless stay in constant rotation in my iTunes folder.  Serge Severe does both…constantly.

Serge Severe is the epitome of consistency when it comes to not only bringing quality rhymes, but also quality music.  He has come out with project after project of dope material yet I feel not enough people know about this man’s talent.

He agreed to answer some questions for this feature and I hope you take the time to read it and peep his music.  The man is a great talent…
