More music from Awkword’s World View project. This time he leaves the guest work out of it and drops every bar himself. The production from ATG is a combination of hip hop and old west saloon music, but when DJ Dyllemma chops it up you get a complete hip hop vibe.
Iron Lyon – Step Into The Night (Video)
“Real recognize real and it’s all fam in here…”
This song made me want to leave my wife and son at home and go his the block (no, I did stay at home). But it did set off that vibe. Great cut from a great album. Everything is on point with this cut.
Iron Lyon’s album, From The Ground Up, is better than just being solid. It’s a great listen. I really hope to get a review out for this one because it’s owed the time and energy.
Single You Out: SKREWTAPE (ft. Tame One x Nems) – Like That (Mr. Green)
Drop this album, already! C’mon SKREWTAPE! I have enjoyed single after single off of Skumbag Millionaire and I am ready to hear the full length. This is just another banger, this time laced by none other than Mr. Green. This time Tame One and Nems FYL help keep the party moving by making heads roll. Good play off verses on this one…
F.T [Fuc That] – The Strip (Video)
F.T. made his mark in hip hop many years ago with his verse on the collabo, Metal Thangz. His rough flow and grimy lyrics make him stand out in an otherwise crowded NY scene. And what does he do? He goes out and makes an anthem! At least, that’s what this sounds like to me. You know you will bumping this joint in the ride no matter where you hail from.
Single You Out: OBX – Evil Ways (ft. Guilty Simpson)
A tribute to Carlos Santana you say? Yeah. I can get behind that. OBX reps the great state of Texas and is one of the fresher artists coming from the Lonestar. This time he enlists some support on the mic device from Detroit’s own, Guilty Simpson. It’s a hip hop twist on some classic material. Be on the lookout!
Nutso (feat. Shabaam Sahdeeq & Royal Flush) – Blowing Up (Video)
Nutso, Shabaam Sahdeeq, and Royal Flush link up to drop a gem on em’. Nutso and Sahdeeq have been wrecking shop this year. They both have been putting in major work in 2012 with tons of guest spots and projects. All of them very dope. This joint arrives from Nutso’s most recent project, Behind These Bars which has loads of dope rhymes and tight rhymes. This video is also quite original with the emcees being features in all of your favorite magazines as they take things to the next level. Make sure you support artists like these…they make this hip hop shit go around!
Single You Out: Ruste Juxx & The Arcitype – That La La La (ft. Craig G & General Steele)
Damn. Computer just ate my post! Oh well. What I was saying…I am currently not one to partake in the ‘La-La-La’ but if I was to do so, this would be the song that I would bump while I was at it. The Arcitype really showing some versatility with delivering his first smoothed out production from the V.I.C. album that will be dropping on September 25th as a collaborative effort with Ruste Juxx. And speaking of versatility, Ruste Juxx shows that he can deliver the goods on a more mellow offering. Really looking forward to the album!
Brown Bag AllStars – Say It Now (ft. Akie Bermiss)
Brown baggin’ it this Friday. This video for Say It Now dropped a few days ago and it’s definitely worth sharing as is pretty much anything the team drops. This is my favorite track from the Brown Label Part 2. J57 on the boards!

Note:
It’s time that I bring you something different in a not so subtle way. The combination of producer/emcee, Tokyo Cigar, and emcee, Cyclops, constitute the group The Plexiglass Fountain. On the promo for the album, Cigar is described as eccentric. I am not sure about that but how about the the term nouveau? Or maybe cutting edge, or nontraditional? I think all of those adjectives fit our combination emcee/beatsmith. Cyclops is described as poetic, and I think that shoe fits without exception.

Friday Feature: illMEASURED x ill Conscious – The Essence
I was specifically saving this track for this feature. This was originally released about a month ago as, ill Conscious’ title track from his forthcoming album that goes by the same name. This is also the perfect illustration for why I am featuring illMEASURED in the first place. His places samples are in succinct timing for this uptempo banger. I also really enjoy how the production is very vibrant. There is something very alive with this track that is certainly accentuated by ill Conscious’ dope flow and lyrical content. He is a really talented emcee. Great debut for him as well as being the perfect continuation of our September feature for illMEASURED. This is indeed the essence of hip hop…
