I typically don’t post videos like this unless it’s someone I know and they deliver a monstrous performance. Both of those apply to Of Mice An Musician’s Benjamin Miles. Benjamin Miles and team release Bottles & Bones earlier this year, and it’s been one of my favorite joints of 2012. Don’t Sleep!
Artist Spotlight: Godilla (2012)
This monthly artist’s spotlight features none other than Godilla! I am excited about this feature as I have been following this artist for quite some time. When he released his second album, Jaguar Paw, I didn’t know what to expect. But after listening to that project not so many years ago, I knew that he was about high lyrical content, boom bap beats, and an appreciation for the art of being an emcee.
So without further ado, I bring you our spotlight on Godilla! Make sure you check him out on Twitter and Facebook, and support his projects, both past and future.
Single You Out: SciFi Stu – What You Wanna Know? (ft. John Robinson, Venomous 2000, Tone Liv and Chinch 33)
Scifi Stu is not one to rest on his laurels. Hot off of his Blood album that he recently released, he drops another gem on them with What You Wanna Know? The flute lures you in and pretty soon the drums just take over. One of those mesmerizing tracks. There are lots of good emcees on this cut so don’t miss out on this one!
Friday Feature: illMEASURED x Lam & Grins – Be Careful (ft. R.A. the Rugged Man)
Alright, here we are at the final installment of this month’s Friday Feature with illMEASURED. If you missed out, just backtrack and check out what this man has to offer hip hop fans. But as the old adage goes, we saved the best for last for our readers. illMEASURED produces an absolute monster for emcees Lam & Grins. Not only that but you see who joins that duo on the mic…none other than R.A. The Rugged Man. And that feature may draw you in, but this beat by our featured artist keeps you there. The dark bass line and the guitar licks, accompanied by the expert chopping up the MOP sample make sure that this joint bangs in your system for a while.
Make sure you keep in tune to what this man it doing. Email him for a beat for your project. Follow him on Twitter. Like his Facebook Page. Big things are afoot.
Single You Out: Journalist 103 – United We Stand
Journalist 103 (of The Left) is about to release his first solo album, Reporting Live. This is the second sampling off of that project that will drop on October 30th. On this joint, where the production is driven by the horns, Journalist 103 drops some observational thoughts in rhyme regarding politics and social issues. He comes across, not only as a talented emcee, but also as insightful. It’s a nice track that bodes well for his upcoming release.
Single You Out: DJ Concept – Industry Morgues (ft. Tools x Famoso)
This is some music inspired by the premier of Dexter’s upcoming season that starts on Sunday. But really the bottom line is that this is another joint for you to bang in your system over the weekend. Some ill material. The beat has an epic vibe to it and Tools and Famoso both drop some dramatic verse to capture the spirit of the production.
Check The Discography: Brown Bag AllStars
I wish I had more time to dedicate to the releases that are coming out of this camp. Their music is always dope and they are consistent to say the least. You should frankly own all of their projects. I will hopefully be able to continue to update their discography throughout the years. Just click the album cover and be taken to a link to purchase the project or download depending on whether or not it was free or not. Enjoy…
(Shout out for J57 for helping me out on the list)

Lgorithms 3P (2012)
Artist: L*Roneous
Title: Lgorithms 3P
Source: Artist
Tracklisting:
1. Drift Away
2. Melody
3. Apartment D
Here’s a little something extra for those of you who caught Lgorithms album earlier this year. It’s obviously quite short but I guarantee you would rather cop three tracks from L*Roneous than a 16 track album from 95% of other ’emcees’.
All three of these tracks are harmonious and have a soulful vibe. My favorite track of the bunch is Melody. It just has a very optimistic outlook on life that I want to relate to. I connected with that joint, though the samples on Apartment D are also quite memorable.
Give it a run…
Single You Out: DJ Dyllemma: Mulatu (ft. Silent Knight, Tito Fuerte & Kon Boogie)
Here’s some resounding dopeness from DJ Dyllemma’s forthcoming project, Dyllemanade. Verses from personal favorite, Silent Knight, Tito Fuerte, and Kon Boogie compliment the slinking production and precise cuts of Dyllemma perfectly.

He can orchestrate some beautiful music with his team and that’s exactly what he does with EMPBeTheTeam. Everything is done in house production wise and with the duties on the mic because when your camp is this talented you don’t have to rely on anybody else.
