I would not have checked this unless Frank Ramz sent it to me.  The end result after a couple of listens is that it’s pretty damn dope.  NatStar and Frank Ramz undoubtedly  are capable of spitting bars in abundance.  But the thing here is that these bars are proliferated with meaning.    I mean check this snippet of the last verse:

We yelling black is beautiful from the pew inside  the church / Hallelujah! But we shoot a n#@ga if blue is on his shirt / Or if his hat is twisted cute we move his casket in the dirt

Just those few bars should be enough for people who are looking for dope hip hop music to share this track with a friend.  This music is powerful.   This is from NatStar’s album, Dreamer, which was just released a few days ago. You can also stream all the tracks before purchasing HERE.

Single You Out: MidaZ the BEAST – Fire (ft. Roc Marciano) (The IMAKEMADBEATS Remix)

Fire_Remix

Fire, from MidaZ the Beast and Roc Marciano is given the remix treatment by accomplished beatsmith, IMAKEMADBEATS.  IMAKEMADBEATS give this track a touch of playful sadsim.  (How did you like that?  Playful sadism…I said it)  It’s dark, banging, yet intriguing and interesting.  This may be one of my favorite beats from 2013.    Really feeling it.   AU, MidaZ’s album, is dropping in two weeks.  Highly anticipated.

Artist Spotlight: Uncommon Nasa (2013)

BW1Train

Today is the day that Uncommon Nasa delivers his latest album, Land Of The Way It IsIt’s only fitting that we shine the spotlight on the man, his career, and his music.  He has been a steady contributor for independent hip hop since 2004.  He, and his roster of artists at Uncommon Records, continue to push the limits and boundaries of hip hop.  He features and fosters a blend of unique sounds and ideas with the vintage boom bap rhythms that he grew up with. He is a trailblazer among his peers because there are few who are willing to deviate from the norm and try something different. Nasa does this on a frequent basis Graciously, Nasa agreed to sit down and answer some question from the HHD camp and here is that end result:

Awon & Phonics have this new album out entitled, Return To The Golden Era.  By virtue of the title’s name you should no what’s the aim of the album and the sound it’s trying to accomplish.  It is really tight all the way through and if you are digging the sound of, Midas Touch, you ought to check out the whole project.   The production and the flows do not let you down at any point.

Single You Out: OnlyOne – Counter Intelligence (ft. IAME and Goldini Bagwell)

Cult Classic 2 is slated to drop on August 20th.  I can’t wait.   This track showcases not OnlyOne’s business but also that of Sandpeople cohorts, IAME and Goldini Bagwell.  It’s dope through and through, but the beat by  THNDRTHF is certainly worth noting.  It mixes clashing symbols and a diverse amount of electronica.  It lends the necessary amount of paranoia to the song.

Single You Out: Blame One & J57 – How Much Time’s Left (ft. Akie Bermiss)

odXoVRd

This is the third single from the Blame One and J57 collaborative album, Walk In The Sun.   It continues in the tradition of soulful and introspective music.  Blame One reflects back on what is important in his life,   He’s a family man who rocks the mic and not the vice versa.  The man has his priorities in the right order.  Akie Bermiss, does what he has done numerous times…he gives a track a touch of class and refinement.  Dope music.  Can’t wait for the album.
