Famoso is staying busy in preparation for his release of the B.A.S.E. project. War In My Mind is another single from the project. The dope production is from Notez and Ayden. The sample they use for the chorus is a nice touch, while Famoso stays consistent dropping ill bars with the concept of moving forward in his life and career and not looking back.
Single You Out: Akir – Future (ft. Immortal Technique)
It has been a minute since I have heard from Akir and it’s good to hear these new sounds, only to be enhanced by the guest appearance of Immortal Technique. The beat by The Sound at first sets you out upon a safari and then starts to add layer upon layer of instrumentation. It is a musical build up until a catharsis. Akir’s new album, The Plan, drops on September 24th.
Single You Out: OnlyOne – Might Be Purple Might Be Pink (ft. Illmaculate & Epp)
More good music from OnlyOne’s forthcoming Cult Classic 2. Illmaculate and Epp joined him on this psychedelic journey. The beat is trippy, like looking through a kaleidoscope (which is a fitting comparison in regards to the song’s title) , but the verses are that straightforward dopeness we come to expect from the Sandpeople crew.
Single You Out: Innocent? – Hope (prod. by Alterbeats)
Another banger to be added to the credentials of French producer, Alterbeats! This beat is lethal with these banging keys. I am not all that familiar with Innocent? (though I am sure I Have featured him on here before) but I like his voice a lot and it flows very smooth over this production. His content also involves relevant and real subject matter.
Virtuoso – If You Lost Someone (Prod by Snowgoons) (Video)
Virtuoso releases a cut and video for his departed friend, Eric. First off the song is touching. If you listen to the verses, Virt gives you a glimpse into the friendship and the inspiration of his partner. The second thing that hits you is the fact that in the video he invites Eric’s younger sister to reminisce on camera. I think that makes the song all the more personal.
But lets not get it twisted, Virt’s new album, CoVirt Ops: Infantry is for the most part about banging beats and tough rhymes. Make sure you cop that.
Ruste Juxx – Everyday Hustle (Video)
Ruste Juxx is gearing up to release his new project entitled, Ready To Juxx, which is a reinterpretation of Biggie’s classical album, Ready To Die. Everyday Hustle is the first shot fired from that project. Ruste Juxx (Artist Of The Year 2012) continues to perform at a high level so I have no doubt that the new album will be exceptional. It has to be if you are stepping where Biggie once tread. The album is slated for a September 24th release.
Single You Out: Cayoz – Letras Líquidos (Feat. SageInfinie, P-Hill The Genesis & DJ Grazzhoppa)
New Cayoz material, and this time he brought a few friends to rock over some Spanish influenced hip hop production. I didn’t realize that Cayoz’s production skills were so refined either. He definitely put together something proper with Letras Liquidos. One of the things that has been a MO of Cayoz is the fact that he puts together thought provoking music. But what gets lost in the translation sometimes is just how technically gifted he is as an emcee. Sageinfinie and P Hill The Genesis both make solid contributions with their verse as well. And what can I say, that I have not already about DJ Grazzhoppa? I will say it again though for those of you who have not been listening: Grazzhoppa has the Midas Touch. If he is on the track, it’s going to be good.
Single You Out: Suicide Kings – Savages (ft. MOP)
The Suicide Kings just dropped their album, Crown Of Thorns, a few days ago. I just picked it up yesterday and there are some tracks that have some serious knock to them. This is one of them. If you like albums heavy on boom bap and aggressive wordplay, you are going to like, Crown Of Thorns.
Clear Soul Forces – Ain’t Playin (Video)
Clear Soul Forces is back in the lab and creating new music. Ain’t Playin’ is coming off of their new album, Gold PP7s, which is slated to drop on September 17th. The group continues to build off of the ‘soul’ in their name dropping fresh track after fresh track.
Single You Out: Tha Soloist x Trilian – Before Us (ft. Red Eye and Miilkbone)
The names that are involved in this project are ones that you can automatically associate with being a banger! All of these artists have been featured on HHD before and received high acclaim. Now they unite for this track which is the jump off for Tha Soloist and Trilian’s new project, Exit Thru Gift. That album is slated for an early 2014 delivery. Enjoy this track in the meantime.
