Finally Kon Boogie’s new album, Believe Or Never Grow, has a release date. It’s dropping on September 11th. Up until that time he’s going to be dropping one “bonus” track a week that will not be on the actual album. Now if this was on the cutting room floor, you know the album has got to be tight. This track is nice! It’s up tempo and fun. You’ve got 5th Seal on the beat and some guest bars from, Eye-N-See.
I keep hearing that Nino Bless is young. Well if his years are young, his flow is that of a super-seasoned vet. I mean seven minutes of straight intelligent bars? Damn! His wordplay is at an elite level and I dare someone to tell me otherwise. Other artists beware, because if the son is shining brightest you might get lost in this man’s shadow! Mr. Morbid and Melph are back bringing the hardcore as the anticipation builds for their forthcoming album, Close To The End. This track is nice with an operatic background and epic production. The flows are also way above par. The Netherlands is doing it!

Meyhem Lauren drops this video for Drug Lord, from Respect The Fly Shit. The song features guest bars from AG Da Coroner and Action Bronson. Production is done by none other that Harry Fraud. The video is extremely creative. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it in terms of a music video.

I can’t go any longer without talking about this album. Quadir Lateef’s, Fools Gold, is an indictment of all that is going on in the hip hop culture. He is fierce and fearless when making his observations. Everything from the songs to the skits has a purpose, and that’s to put this hip hop culture on blast. As a Muslim, Lateef, has a problem with his surroundings and instead of sitting idly by and giving the perpetrators a pass, he vehemently goes after these individuals within the confines of this music.
It’s funny that his single is premiering on HHD the same day as post the Quadir Lateef review for Fool’s Gold. R-Swift is reiterating the same sentiments as Lateef in many ways. He too recognizes the ills of the record industry and the type of image they are trying to promote. Really relevant material. If you are diggin this track, he has an album that was recently released entitled, Apply Pressure.

Dope lyricism. One of the best recent demonstrations of that ‘Alphabet Control’ in a song. Wildelux is not just tossing the “C” words out of context either just for the sake of doing. Everything remains in context. Very well written and produced as well. This video reminds me that I have to check his album, Grand Champion. Definitely need to cop that.
Sometimes our survival has it’s vices and Peter Leo is here to address them with the DJ Concept produced track, Liquor Store. Leo strikes me as a young artist whose life has run the gamut . He’s seen and done some things, and he’s not afraid to discuss them with us as a listener. On September 10th, we are going to get to hear what his story has to offer us in the form of Young Baby Father.
Tug McRaw recently dropped this video single from his most recent project, Language Arts Vol. 3. McRaw invites people into his home for the video, only so they can wave the white flag of appreciation for his musical capabilities. He is one of those artists that everyone should know about. So study up and go through his discography. He has a bunch of ill projects already to his credit and some new material in the works that I can’t wait to hear.
