The Undergrind (Mirage512, Side Effect, D.O.S) – So Real (Video) (Dee Metto Remix)

The Undergrind, Austin, Texas’ heavy hitters are back with a hard and gritty remix for their track, So Real.   Mirage512 and Side Effect call upon Swiss producer Dee Metto to give the track a grimy appeal, and they asked the right man.  Dee Metto is one of my favorite producers  and we will be doing a feature on him very shortly.  Also, they solicit the rhymes of D.O.S. who I have never heard of before, and he brings some tough bars to the project.   Definitely notable.

Motive – Rat In A Cage (ft. Apathy) (Video)

The video has some nice effects but it’s the music that is going to move you here.  Apathy once again shows that he has elite skill when in comes to production.  He showed it on the Demigodz album, KILLmatic, and he once again blesses us with a strong effort.  His adaptation of The World Is A Vampire from The Smashing Pumpkins is nothing less than stellar.   Motive and Apathy then proceed to blister the mic in their verses with line after ill line.  This is the first single from Motive’s upcoming project, The DNA.

Single You Out: Eff Yoo – Harvard vs. Yale (ft. AyeWun)

This isn’t exactly a single from Ef Yoo’s album, Bodega Businessman, but hell, I can’t get enough of this track with Goldenchild’s superlative production and I had to share it with you (pique your interest in the album maybe?).   Eff Yoo and Aye Wun go Ivy League and upper crust on you with these high society rhyme schemes and word play.  If you appreciate the finer things in hip hop (ie dope beats and rhymes) you should be feeling this track like I am.   It’s on repeat in my crib.

Poison Man – Armageddon (Video)

First off Poison Man is composed of Meta P, Mayhem, and DJ John Gotem.   Secondly this music and video is too ill.  This is actually the second feature for Mayhem of the day which rarely happens for any artist.  It just happens when great talent and good timing combine.  The beat by Al Gees sounds apocalyptical which suits the sound just fine.   I am excited to hear what the team has in store for an album.  Dope styles abound!

Single You Out: Rome Clientel – Champions (ft. Realm Reality & Skyzoo) (prod. DJ Concept)

photo

Rome Clientel is back with another single from the The Empire 3: Coronation project that has a set date of October 14th (which isn’t that far now). The cut, entitled Champions,  finds Rome trading bars with New York lyricists Realm Reality (Infamous) and Skyzoo over production from DJ Concept.  When you have some many talented individuals involved in a cut, it’s impossible for it to be considered anything less than a win.

I think it needs to also be said here that DJ Concept is killing it as of late.  He has had his hand in a number of different projects with a variety of artists and they all come out tight.    Just trying to recognize a major contributor to hip hop when I see one…

Single You Out: Slum Pritt! – Makebeleevas

artworks-000057784847-qd4xk0-t500x500

This is the first time I have featured Slum Pritt! on HHD but this is the third single from his forthcoming project, Awake For The Nightmare.  Throughout the short track he goes on to expose those who are kidding themselves as to who they are.  Joe Burn Em creates an atmosphere through this production that sounds like something from early Jemini The Gifted One (some of you youngins aren’t going to know that reference but oh well).  Check it!

Kon Boogie – The Game Needs Me (Video)

The first visual off Kon Boogie’s free album has arrived. The Game Needs Me is the intro track on Believe Or Never Grow produced by V Dizzle and shot by Live Loud Ent. The video is pretty straightforward and Kon Boogie wastes no time getting in the zone.  It hits some of the main landmarks in his home town of Corona Queens in a fairly creative way. Using on location shots and what seems to be Kon Boogie in front of a projector to break up the sequence and add texture. All in all it’s a great concept for some of these overused locations and definitely worth the watch. His FREE album is still available on his site

Single You Out: Don Streat – Colors Remix (ft. Mayhem of EMS) (prod. by Cool FD)

artworks-000058517127-yqj8h8-t500x500

Don Streat (Baltimore, MD) and Cool FD (Orleans, France) drop the single Colors Remix featuring Mayhem of EMS from their upcoming project named Bare My Soul.   And while I do not have a set release date for the project, knowing the parties involved, I know it’s going to be dope.   Cool FD intermingles funk elements into this hip hop production giving Don Streat and Mayhem something live to spit their verses upon.

FYI…we will be showcasing Cool FD on the first of October so make sure you check back for that.
