LATYRX (Lateef + Lyrics Born) – Exclamation Point (ft. Forrest Day) (Video)

It’s unorthodox.  It’s different.   It’s fun.  Be grateful that the team of Lateef and Lyrics Born have come together again to form the powerhouse of Latyrx.  These guys are originals when it comes to nonconformity in hip hop.  They were pushing boundaries when the rest of these artists were scared to even put a foot outside their proverbial box.

Check out their album, expertly titled, The Second Album.

Single You Out: One Dae – Bang This (prod. by Marco Polo)

The fire for hire is back!  One Dae is set to drop his album, Daes and Times later this month and he makes a great impression with this Marco Polo produced head knocker.  And please don’t think that One Dae is a new jack making his first move in the game.  He’s been putting in work for years, this is just the first you have probably have heard of him.  But if you didn’t know before, now you know.

Single You Out: Rite Hook – It Ain’t Easy (ft. Vinnie Paz and Slaine)

artworks-000062097539-l6rdar-t500x500

Rite Hook’s album, From The Wrong, drops on Monday.  This is the last single to drop before the arrival of the album, and it’s a doozy.   Lu Balz’ production it really effective.  It’s not so big that it ‘covers’ the emcees but still knocks.  Rite Hook, Vinnie Paz, and Slaine all have had to struggle for what they have and no…that ain’t easy.  Lace your boots up and cop the album when it drops in a couple of days.

Single You Out: Spit Gemz – El Estudiante

EDvyvSh

Spit Gemz is releasing his new project, End The TV in just a couple of days, and I for one simply can’t wait.   Ice Rocks laces some beautiful music for Spit Gemz to flow over for the single, El Estudiante.  The track plays like a new school version of the Black Sheep classic, The Choice Is Yours.   The track and project will come courtesy of 2Dopeboyz and Nahright respectively.   Check it!

Single You Out: Skeezo – How You Spit? (ft. Napoleon Da Legend)

artworks-000061972560-t5gtwy-t500x500

If you’re not down with homie Skeezo, you can simply exit stage left.  This guy continuously drops real bars.  This time he links up with Napoleon Da Legend.  The two exchange sixteens over a dope beat by Ghettoblaster.  The EP that this is coming off of is called Stuck In Da 90s.   With this track you can see and hear why the project earned it’s title.  Skeezo is bringing back to the forefront that boom-bap sound that he loves, and we love too.  The project has a drop date of November 29th and you can preorder it now.

OnlyOne & 9DM EP (2013)

ONLYONE AND 9DM - ALBUM COVER

This EP is probably flying pretty low on the radar but I am about to bring truth to the light so to speak.  Anything OnlyOne puts out gets posted on the regular here on HHD.  We also featured 9DM here a couple of years ago with his collaboration with Lawz Spoken,  You’ll Never Be Famous.  That project was impressive.   This one is equally so.  It’s short, sweet, and FREE.  You’ve also got dope production from Hippie Sabotage and Chase Moore.   OnlyOne and 9DM are vets in the battle scene and they bring that combative element to their music as well.   Their lyrics do not compromise and they hit opponents and listeners the same…mercilessly.  The two soundlcoud singles are below although my favorite tracks from the project are the last two:  Robbed A Bank and Stole A Car.   The production on those songs are exceptional.

If you enjoy Sandpeople music or are a fan of these artists on the battle circuit you should download this.  You can get it HERE

ATAK 1 – Fall From Grace (prod. by Sinima Beatz) (Video)

I saw this posted over at Kevin Nottingham’s spread and I thought it was definitely worthy of one of our five posts today.   The production from Sinima Beatz is spot on.  He cinched it with that sample right from the get go.  ATAK 1 also represents his flaws really well in his gift of rhyme.  And, no, he’s not perfect, but he’s blessed enough to spit some bars for us and that’s good enough here on HHD.  This is off of his mixtape, ComonDante- The Che Guevera of Rap Vol.5.

Single You Out: Frank Ramz – Trouble Child (prod. by Natstar)

I for one Frank Ramz is back at it this year releasing some more music.  It’s also good to hear that his project, Medicine Filled Candy is dropping soon.   I find Ramz to be a unique commodity because he’s not just rhymes, he’s creating stories that have meaning while enlisting his God given talent to write rhymes.  This particular cut is autobiographical.  Check his first verse:

started in the dirt & they ain’t even give me soap,
but being rooted in the soil is the best place for growth.
but being trapped in the trap & having to have dealings while reaching a glass ceiling kept chipping off at my hope.
i found love up in a dark place her name just happened to be music,
gave life to the lifeless shining the brightest & truest.
my money wasn’t moving the the way it shouldve been moving,
& im so done w/ retail im ready to be a nudist.
…i went from being clueless to a know it all, who didn’t know shit but i refused to show a flaw.
..soon as i..got on a roll like a bowling ball,
life would strike back… the gutter would pull me in and console my fall.
had to make alot of split decisions…
realign myself..take better aim & even switch positions.
….consistent wishing drove a brother wild, lotta frowns… couple smiles… this was a recipe for my mothers youngest [trouble child]

Ruste Juxx – Gimme Da Loot (Video)

Very few people work as hard as Ruste Juxx does. He always optimizes each and every project he does.  We always get tons of dope visuals from him along with a grip of singles.  That way there should be no reason  for you NOT to cop his new album.  Gimme Da Loot is off of his latest album, Ready To Juxx which was produced entirely by VS The Best. The story, it turns out, is prompted by a stolen umbrella.  Go figure.
