I took a look at this one on the strength of Tragedy tha Beast’s music this year. But in truth all of these emcees can spit over this banger produced by KA Beats. Elementz Emcee, Tragedy, and Dawreck all bloody up this track with some tough lines. I am not sure where this track was lifted off of or whether or not it’s part of a larger project, but enjoy.
This was sent to me via Twitter and usually some of the material sent to me via that network is pretty suspect. This, however, was not.
I believe this is some kind of video series from Grind Life Films. This time they have Krypol Haze jump on this smooth as hell beat from Haris The Terrorist. Haze has got some exceptional skills. He relays this one line regarding skinny jeans and Russel Westbrook’s closet that had me rolling.

Lets be honest….this cut sounds like it dropped in 1996! Straight Golden Era raps from Walt Sicknin’. That boom bap beat by the Llingo Apt should make heads feel so nostalgic for years of hip hop past and Walt Sicknin’ makes you remember how important raw rhymes and skills are. That’s often forgotten in today’s generation. I have no idea who this man is, but he has HHD’s undivided attention now.
H Blanco is a new signee to Termanology’s roster. I think he’s quite impressive on this track. I know that I have heard him on some of Termanology’s past works and looking forward to what he might be doing in the future. Apparently he has a new mixtape released in conjunction with Statik Selektah. I think you guys should feel this joint.
Koncept & Tenacity make up the group Coarse Company. The combination proves to be really dope. Koncept has been dropping consistently dope material for a few years now. Tenacity released a couple of dope albums this year and I will just let it be said: He was the HHD runner-up for our Artist Of The Year this year. You don’t just drop two dope albums and not get noticed.
The J57 produced song, City Hurts comes from their upcoming project, Same Page, which comes out next week. This song bodes well for the quality of the project.
JMEGA releases the video for Bobby Johnson, a single from his latest album, NIGGAZ IZ KINGZ FOREVER. The track is paying repsect to the Golden Era of hip hop but I think it is more than that. It’s taking that new school boom bap with a sharp, modern twist. And if you want to push your track u a notch, getting DJ Grazhoppa to do the cuts is one way to do it.
At least musically, Soul Khan’s 2013 was very much under the radar. He may have only put out a couple of tracks. Praying for a River is setting the table for hopefully a more active 2014. This is the first single from his forthcoming free album, and is produced by the venerable J57. Enjoy.
It’s a union of coasts when N.B.S. and Bishop Lamont tag team to tackle a world of temptations with the track, Vices, off of their new album, The Smokefest. What’s your vice?
I am breaking that rule again where I refuse to showcase freestyles over someone else’s beats. I just can’t simply ignore the fact that Bekay went in over this DJ Premier beat, so I was forced to break my rule or else commit a worse sin and not share this with you. You can find this track on J-Ronin’s Freestyle Files Vol. 2.
I am a big fan of Bekay’s work and I understand he is working on a new album, SURVIVORMAN. Got to keep checking back for that.
I am typically not a fan of montage/mashup videos but this one for Steel Chairs had me feeling a bit nostalgic. I grew up watching the likes of Arn and Oli Anderson and the Four Horsemen so this video took me back. I hadn’t thought about any of those names in a long while. And lets not forget to mention that the music from Esoteric and Stu Bangas is prime choice. Make sure you peep their new album, Machete Mode.
