Shabaam Sahdeeq is back with another single, this time produced by DJ Doom. And what other than complete dope you would you expect from Sahdeeq? He rides the piano infused boom bap from Doom to the fullest extent, setting us up for his next project, Tmeless: of the collection. That’s set to drop early next year.
Reef The Lost Cauze x Bear One – You Know Me Well (Video)
New video from the new album, Furious Styles. Reef The Lost Cauze and Bear One release the video single directed by another ill artist, Skrewtape.
Reef’s music has proved to be timeless. He stays dropping gems.
“…if you’ve beat everyone already, who are you supposed to fight?”
Always bringing that raw boom bap…with dope lyricism.
Single You Out: Blank Face – Jungle
Oh you want some bars? Blank Face has got some bars for you. SoulNewYork provides some production that lies stealthy in the background while the emcee puts in some serious work on the mic. It’s definitely that grimy, yet intelligent east coast boom bap that you need for those ear drums.
Always good to hear some legitimate fresh talent!
Single You Out: Sareem Poems & Ozay Moore – Soap Opera (feat. DJ PA) [Soulseize Remix]
A new remix out for the cut Soap Opera from Sareem Poems and Ozay Moore. the production comes courtesy of Soulseize. The artists are putting a poetic twist on a deteriorating social situation. As certain members of the police appear ever more at odds with the Black Community, it’s songs like this that give us that lend perspective to time and place.
Single You Out: Abyss – Overdue (ft. M-Dot x Aisling Peartree)
Abyss brings us an uptempo single that features bars from family favorite M-Dot, production from C-Lance, and vocal stylings from Aisling Peartree. The song is fire and bound to bring life to your evening. Get up and get something!
Single You Out: Defiant III – Crossfire
The Defiant III are up to no good with the release of the single, Crossfire. IDE, Alucard, and Jise each drop some gems over a production from Warryn Syde. The whole track strikes me something ferocious with a captivating dark piano riff operating snapping snares.
Purge Season is dropping in the fall.
Ugly Heroes – Daisies (Video)
Ugly Heroes release a video for the track Daisies, from their much vaunted album, Everything In Between.
The realness in this song, this album, and this group, really relates to people. There is such a human element to everything they do. They are humbling and at the same time motivating. As a listener and a fan they always inspire me especially during difficult times.
Enjoy.
Single You Out: Dirt Disciples – Hologram
Dirt Disciples keep putting out dope music with this, Hologram, the latest single from the latest, Opportunity Knox Vol. 3. This joint is smooth with production from DJ Concept.
Enjoy.
Ras Beats -Wit No Pressure (ft. Roc Marciano) (Video)
Ras Beats just released his dope producer album, Control Your Own, on Friday. Wit No Pressure, featuring Roc Marciano was the first single from the project, and it makes sense to make it the first video.
Everyone I have talked to about the album thinks very highly of this album, including myself. It has really deep production and features some uniquely dope talent on the mic.
I suggest you check it!
Eff Yoo – Chinese Super Ninjas (ft. G.S Advance,Skanks The Rap Martyr and Spit Gemz) (Video)
So I have a post with Spit Gemz today and one with Skanks but why don’t we tie them together with this cut from Eff Yoo and Rediculous’ album, The Eff Word. Chinese Super Ninjas is a dope posse cut that also includes bars from G.S. Advance.
There’s a really good mix of bars and styles on this cut, but my favorite line comes from Skanks:
…I never served time, I always made my time serve me…
Man, I like that wordplay.
