Single You Out: Tone Spliff & Young Lo – Mastered The Flow (ft. Recognize Ali)

Young-400x400

I am pretty familiar with Tone Spliff and surely know Recognize Ali at this point with as many as gems as he’s unleashed over the last couple of years.  But it’s about time we all get up on Young Lo.  Wait a minute!   Check that…Young Lo, is actually an artist that we’ve helped promote sometime ago, when he went by the name Emilio Lopez.  He was dope then and it’s really good to hear him doing his thing again.  His flow sounds filthy over this Tone Spliff production, casting mumble rappers over the ledge.

Really dope song, hailing from the forthcoming project, Tape Deck Music, dropping in June.

Single You Out: Evolve – Heroin (ft. Chino XL)

Emcee Evolve links up with revered wordsmith, Chino XL for the record, Heroin. This is appropriate because the track is highly addictive.  The beat by Swab out of the UK is just pure fire.

Evolve also does a good job of holding his own with a lyrical heavyweight such as Chino. This track is off of Evolve’s forthcoming project, Be My Guest.  If the project is half as good as this heat rock, it will be an auto-cop on my part!

Interview Series: Taboo – Question 8

So I have drawn out our interview segment with Taboo for a couple of months to keep his name embedded in your noggins but it will all be coming to a close shortly. However, I strongly encourage our readership to check out all the short videos to get an idea for what Taboo is delivering to the game.

In this segment, Taboo goes in about all the projects he has in the works this year.  Below I have showcased his latest track, Invocations, as a member of Double Negative.

Pawz One & Robin Da Landlord – Sell Me A Dream (Video)

Pawz One & Robin Da Landlord lace us with the visuals for the title track to their new project which dropped last Friday.  The project is dope in it’s entirety,  and as a matter of fact I am working on a review for it, because of how much I enjoy it.

Listen to the drums Robin Da Landlord uses for the backbone of the track?  If your head is not snapping back and forth, I am not sure what to tell you.   This track is the embodiment of what hip hop should be.   And the dream here, truly is hip hop articulated in it’s purest form…and that’s what happened on their latest effort.
