Single You Out: Purpose – Limitless Styles (ft. Saigon) (prod. by B.B.Z. Darney)

Oh yeah!!!!!   This song has got me so hype!   Purpose (Tragic Allies) has a new project coming our called The Quintessential dropping soon and the whole body of work is produced by B.B.Z. Darney.

Darney is one of my favorite producers over the course of the last two or three years.  He only produces brilliance and Purpose and Saigon each drop substantially dope verses in between scratches from DJ Philogic.

Whole joint is an A+

Single You Out: John Creasy – Power Trip

I wanted to share with you some music from man on fire, John Creasy.  Did you get the reference there?  If not study up. Haha.   Creasy has a new project that dropped earlier this month called, Power.   He has a strong delivery and cadence over this smooth, horn-laced production from Enrichment that I think the HHD audience is going to vibe with.

I can easily see him becoming a staple on the site.  Check him out.

Single You Out: Apollo Brown x Locksmith – Litmus

no-question

Apollo Brown and Locksmith launch the second single from their forthcoming album, No Question.    The unison of Brown and Lock is that of deep seeded soul colliding with profound lyrical talent.  The result has been amazing thus far.   This song is beautiful through and through and a testament to what two great artists can accomplish together.

This album has all the potential in the world and we will be blessed with it’s presence in about a month. (June 15th to be exact)

Single You Out: Planet Asia – Mansa Musa Medallions (ft. Hus Kingpin x Smooth)

Planet

Planet Asia is gearing up for another album, Mansa Musa, which is set to drop in a couple of days and since the man can do no wrong, and you love hip hop, this is an auto-cop.  Who has consistently dropped more dopeness than Planet Asia over the years?  No one has delivered what he has with this type of consistency.

On the single, Mansa Musa Medallions, Hus Kingpin and Smoovth join Planet Asia over a glorious production from J.O.D.    The track has an ill, yet glorious flavor about it.

Single You Out: Icon Curties – German Beer (ft. Daniel Son)

Overseas producer Icon Curties just unleashed a project, Modus Operandi, in which he produces ten beautiful tracks from most of my favorite emcees doing it.  And, let me be honest (as if that’s sometimes not the case) but I really feel like everything Daniel Son is touching right now becomes fire.  So here, yet again, is another feature including him.  Check out the cut, and rest assured that if you like what’s going on here, you are definitely going to want this album in your collection.

Single You Out: Tone Spliff & Young Lo – Mastered The Flow (ft. Recognize Ali)

Young-400x400

I am pretty familiar with Tone Spliff and surely know Recognize Ali at this point with as many as gems as he’s unleashed over the last couple of years.  But it’s about time we all get up on Young Lo.  Wait a minute!   Check that…Young Lo, is actually an artist that we’ve helped promote sometime ago, when he went by the name Emilio Lopez.  He was dope then and it’s really good to hear him doing his thing again.  His flow sounds filthy over this Tone Spliff production, casting mumble rappers over the ledge.

Really dope song, hailing from the forthcoming project, Tape Deck Music, dropping in June.

Single You Out: Evolve – Heroin (ft. Chino XL)

Emcee Evolve links up with revered wordsmith, Chino XL for the record, Heroin. This is appropriate because the track is highly addictive.  The beat by Swab out of the UK is just pure fire.

Evolve also does a good job of holding his own with a lyrical heavyweight such as Chino. This track is off of Evolve’s forthcoming project, Be My Guest.  If the project is half as good as this heat rock, it will be an auto-cop on my part!

Interview Series: Taboo – Question 8

So I have drawn out our interview segment with Taboo for a couple of months to keep his name embedded in your noggins but it will all be coming to a close shortly. However, I strongly encourage our readership to check out all the short videos to get an idea for what Taboo is delivering to the game.

In this segment, Taboo goes in about all the projects he has in the works this year.  Below I have showcased his latest track, Invocations, as a member of Double Negative.
