Skeptika – The Hour of Death f. SPNDA, Relentless and REKS (Video)

Oh now this is ill on so many different levels!  Skeptika concocted a toxically addictive brew by fusing that boom bap and some East Indian rhythms.  The rhymes from SPNDA, Relentless, and Reks are all on point.

But the concept of the video is pretty unique and epic having female actors mouth the emcee’s lyrics while articulating an all out action scene.

What’s not to love here?  Nothing.  You love everything!  And you should.

Skeptika has an album dropping in the fall called West Of Eden.  I am going to keep my eyes peeled.

Single You Out: Milano Constatine – Attache Case

MIlano

Milano Constatine’s forthcoming album, Attache Case, is easily one of our most anticipated projects of 2018.  Producer Oh Jay captures darkness and turns it into cascading boom bap, giving Constatine  the audio sinister necessary to rip a seriously refined and dope flow.  This guy is a consummate professional.

I am not exactly sure when this is due out but you best believe when it drops, it shall be owned.  You should make a similar promise.

Single You Out: K-Beta – My Name Is K-BETA

Beta

Another personal favorite of mine is back to making music.  Over the past few years there have been a few sightings of K-Beta dropping a verse or two but now it seems he is engaged in a full resurgence which is great for us hip hop fans, because the man is supremely talented.

Here’s is his self-produced reintroduction to the masses. The man has bars!  Check back here for new music from K-Beta as it arrives.

Estee Nack – Excellence (prod. by MichaelAngelo) (Video)

Estee Nack can flow over any type of beat and lately he’s been rocking over a lot of production devoid of drums.  And while this may not be for everyone, Nack is a skilled emcee and can flow over any type of production! This time he hops on a heavenly type of joint produced by MichaelAngelo.  And when I say heavenly, you can almost see the angels descending right here.

This is from a short project out on vinyl entitled, Commerciante D’Arte.

Single You Out: Ullnevano x MANHE – fight club pool table

a0358160113_10

Ullnevano teams up with MANHE for a project named after one of the best names in collegiate sports, God Shammgod, a Point Guard from Providence with the ill handles.   And that’s what this project represents, the ability to control your craft like a ball on a string.

My favorite joint from the project is fight klub pool table, which incidentally is another GREAT name for a track.  MANHE laces a laid back but dusty vinyl vibe accompanied by a cascading harp,  for Ullnevano to proliferate his lyrical skill with.  And you really need to listen hard, because he’s got a lot of built in ill wordplay that you might miss if you’re not paying attention.

Check out SHAMMGOD.

Greater Than – Fine Wine (Video)

I just got done listening to this  Greater Than’s self-titled album, this afternoon.  I thought it was really quite boom-bastic.  For those of you who are not in the know, Greater Than is made up of Seattle artists, Grynch, Fearce Vill, and Grieves.

The first thing I want to make mention of is that Grieves does not rhyme on the album, but produces.  And his chops behind the boards are impressive.  I mean he crafted some delicious rhythms.  I didn’t realize that he could get down like that.

Grinch and and Fearce Vill definitely represent well on the lyrical level as well.   Both lyrically and visually catching bodies over the track Fine Wine.  If you are feeling this joint than undoubtedly you will feel the rest.

Single You Out: Father Focus Confucious – Where You Don’t Belong

Father Focus Confucious (Dead Rabbits) has been on a creative tear as of late, releasing a couple of projects already this year.  His latest one, Volcano, has quite a few heat rocks on it (tasteful pun intended).  He’s got a lot of great guest spots on it but some of the stand out joints to me are the solo tracks.

My favorite is actually the leading track, Where You Don’t Belong.  This song highlights both his skill as a producer and emcee.   I really connected and vibe with this one.

Single You Out: Supreme Cerebral – Clean Shot (ft. Born Unique) (prod. by Pete Twist)

Dd_IaNyU8AAJIaS

Supreme Cerebral is just getting started with 2018, after dropping his God’s Gift project just weeks ago, he unleashes another banger produced by Pete Twist, and featuring fellow beat abuser, Born Unique, to share the mic.   This song is just tough.  The piano, the drums,  and vocal sample by Twist, are an ominous precursor to verbal fireworks.

This is yet another single from Kings Throne 2 which is due out on August 22nd.  Mark it on your calendar because all of these tracks have been tough.
