We just recently reviewed William Cooper’s album, God’s Will. So we have no doubt that you will enjoy the video single for the track, Zombieland. On first glance you might think this was a video for the Walking Dead, however you soon realize as Diabolic and Cooper spit that the Zombies are analogy for the sheep that we have become in the eyes of the powerful and the government. Don’t sleep!
Nutso – Str8 Talk (ft. General Steele x Blacastan) (Video)
This is the final video from Nutso’s, Divided Souls EP. And he ends things with a true heater from the project repping that “true” NYC sound. General Steele and Blacastan each lend some rough sixteens to the record while the beat will have you swaying the neck. This is one of those tracks that reaffirm hip hop is in good hands.
Check that EP!
CF – Extra (Video)
The intellectual capacity of CF as an artist is far beyond the industry standard. Whenever you listen to a CF verse you are bound to pick up some tid-bit of knowledge you didn’t know before. On the cut, Extra, from the album Ascension, he references things like the Minutemen being the latest rendition of the KKK and the need for stronger leadership in the latin community, nuancing Che Guevara. It also helps that he is loaded on skill and talent. One of our favorites!
King Magnetic – Tuff Guy (Video)
Tuff Guy is the lead single off the newly released album, Timing Is Everything. King Magnetic is one of those artists that has been putting in consistent work for the longest time. His mixtapes and the Everything Is A Gamble series has put out more bangers than most other people’s entire discography. His projects can play from start to end and while I just copped the new album, Timing Is Everything will be no different in that capacity.
Tuff Guy is just a prime example of what this artist is capable of. He flips over a banger, describing himself as not a tough guy, but capable of being really menacing if push ever came to shove. And he calls out all those who are tough when in the company of others, but really pussy when it comes to handling business by yourself.
This is one album that everybody needs to support this year. You have to reward an artist who has been consistent as he has over the years. Let’s back him up!
Akrobatik / LX-Beats – Shotgun (Video)
This is the new single from a forthcoming Akrobatik and LX Beats collaboration. Shotgun is an expose on the all-powerful position when you are riding in someone else’s whip. I love the way Akrobatik rides this laid back beat and details all the benefits of taking over that front passenger seat.
There’s no said date on when the EP will be released but you ca bet we will update our Release Date section when we have word.
EK – Dress My Fears (ft. Simile) (Video)
First off, shout out to Dub MD for always keeping me in the know when it comes to dope new music that’s coming out. It’s guys like him that help guys like me spread the word to folks like you. Today’s newness is an emcee who rocks under the monniker of EK. The song, Dress My Fears, is especially poignant when regarding the latest tragedy that has befallen the community of Charleston, South Carolina. The track is off his forthcoming EP, Hands Of Time. That’s hitting on July 1st.
Born Unique – Hisenberg (prod. by Sultan Mir) (Video)
You want a song that will make you want to hurt something? Well right here we got a new cut from Born Unique who is dropping the rough and rugged over a delicious production from Sultan Mir. This track is just filthy.
Respect Tha God – Shake It Up (Video)
I love the flavor Respect Tha God brings to the microphone and IDE really provides a heater to get the party jumping. Shake It Up, to me, is about mixing up the game a little bit because shit can get a little monotonous with the same tired themes and flows. Respect That God gets things back to being enjoyable with this cut. Respect.
The new album, Work Ethic, is out now. Consider copping that!
Allen Poe – Still Eatin (cuts by Deejay Element) (Video)
We featured the single not that long ago, and now we got the video from Allen Poe and Deejay Element for the track Still Eatin. The music speaks for itself and I stand behind my initial comments that this is a contender for a top ten track of the year.
Serge Severe and Gen. Erik – Say Nothing (Video)
The Serge Severe and Gen.Erik collaboration has been a long time and coming as the two have known each other for seven years. But better late than never as the two are teaming up for a project due out later on this year. For the single, Say Nothing, you get nothing less than vintage Severe flipping over some hard hitting drum from Gen.Erik.
