Shabaam Sahdeeq’s new EP, Modern Artillery is out now and this track reflects well upon the whole project. We showcased the single back in early October and now we are treated to the video. The concept of the video is pretty dope in that you think that you are watching a family man getting his bread the legal way, and only til the very end do you understand that he’s taking the crooked path to make the ends meet. Pretty dope. Production is by Big Ape. Make sure you snag this EP.
MoSS – Jealousy & Envy (ft. Slaine & Termanology) (Video)
Jealousy & Envy is just one of the many dope tracks off of MoSS’ new album, Marching to the Sound of My Own Drum. I love the drums and the horns utilized for this production. And Termanology and Slaine maintain their cool with the haters and detractors to their very own success. Some really nice flows and bars with this music.
Nutso – I Just Don’t Know (prod. Da Beatminerz) (Video)
Nutso is back with a new track produced by Da Beatminerz. This track puts Nutso back in his element, spittin’ about his time on the block both now and yesterday. The production and the flows really have a perfect blend. It has a throwback, and almost playful demeanor, but even the most fun tracks by Nutso pack a razor blades’ edge…so don’t smile too much. Ha.
Nomis – Traffic (ft. John Givez) (Video)
Nomis drops some heavy music with his latest video, Traffic. It’s also an extremely clever way to discuss Human Trafficking. We often times get upset at the most mundane things, like the traffic jam that keeps us from work or from a party. We are so self-absorbed in our own minor tribulations to notice the suffering happening around us. Human Trafficking is often something that gets swept under the rug, but Nomis is shedding much needed creative light.
His album, Socially Just, drops on November 13th. I am all in!
Rain910 – Who Wants To Die (ft. Cory Gunz) (Video)
This cut is as they say, ‘stupid fresh’. Rain910 and Cory Gunz are on some Dia De Los Metros shit with this latest cut produced by Nottz. It’s a banger in every sense of the word. The production from Nottz is so fire it’s able to set off a panic among listeners. Rain and Gunz then proliferate random violence with every turn of phrase.
Be on the lookout A Perfect Day To Die dropping on November 13th.
Wax – The Meanest (Video)
A new video from Wax featuring sites from the San Diego Zoo. The Meanest illustrates Wax’s ability to make what I consider to be very addictive music. It’s impossible to listen to some of his cuts and not sing the choruses or echo the rhymes. They take on an almost anthem quality.
This cut hails from Wax’s latest album, Livin Foul.
Kamala – Kamalakai (ft. Bankai Fam) (Video)
DJ Ready Cee brings the collective forces of KAMALA and Bankai Fam together for the first single to his album, Order 66, which is due out on December 19th.
I was going to single out El Gant and Skanks’ bars but as you listen to each emcee you come to realize that each emcee comes correct. The cut is impressive and the album is bound to be more of the same. Check it when the time is right!
DJ Soko – Take Notes (ft. Hassaan Mackey, Marvwon, and Finale) (Video)
This video represents one of the many ill tracks that can be found on DJ Soko’s new album, Domino Effect. Man, Hassan Mackey, Marvwon, and Finale body this tight beat from Soko. The flows are certified, legitimate, and complimentary. I am particularly fond of Finale dropping some mythology on us with the Icarus line.
Be sure to check out thew new album!
P.SO & 2 Hungry Bros – Fire In The Hole (Video)
P.So and 2 Hungry Bros. back up their collaborative musical effort, Feast Of Legend, with a video for the single, Fire In The Hole. This is the place where great music meets innovative and interesting video concepts. Who would’ve though that the term ‘fire in the hole’ would take on the concept of a hot wings eating contest?
M-Dot & EMS – Spittin’ Dead (Video)
M-Dot and company give you the visuals to a track that dropped six months ago, Spittin’ Dead. The premise of the track is to illustrate that we already exist in a climate where people walk around like zombies due to various media outlets. A good number of people believe everything that they see and hence become zombiefied. And not to go unmentioned, the crews undisputed talent, makes the track extra fresh.
This track will be found on Revalation’s forthcoming, Emergency Broadcast.
