Soarse Spoken – Sidetracker (Video)

Soarse Spoken has a pretty ill song here from his album, Rawcentricity. I am not sure who is responsible with the production, but it’s very well done. I love the texture of sounds. I also love Spoken’s detailing as to what it means to be exploited as an artist and encouraging listeners to support their music. Using the visual analogy of a vampire community coming after “fresh meat” is another dope way of conveying the point. Props!

Kamala – Online College (Video)

KAMALA is back with some more illness in the form of the video single, Online College. DJ Ready Cee, El Gant, and Parakahn bring ridicule to your higher educational moments with this joint and it’s done in the freshest fashion possible so you don’t mind being insulted. Lyrically superb and production approved! Now all we need is a full length project…or a project of any length. I’ll take that too.

M-Dot – Dreamscape (prod. By Marco Polo) (Video)

M-Dot is really building the anticipation for his forthcoming album, EgO anD The EneMy, which is due in two parts, the first of which is slated to drop January 27th of next year. It seems like a ways a way but it will be here sooner than we know it.

M-Dot really does get diabolical and creates a blood bath over the Marco Polo production. I mean when they suggest someone is ‘bringing the pain’…this is what they mean. The duo is taking the listener into the torture chamber for this one. The production and the lyricism transport you into the chaotic mind.

Enjoy!

La Coka Nostra – Dark Day Road (Video)

La Coka Nostra (Slaine and Ill Bill) is back with a new album that dropped yesterday, To Thine Own Self Be True. And this is one of many bangers that you will find on the album. The ill lyricism and the production are for everybody, but this video has a darkside about it that maybe your brain shouldn’t wrap itself around. It will take you to a dark place for about three minutes, and it may take a second to get yourself readjusted after watching it.

But do yourself a favor and purchase the album for some unrelenting dope!

LegSweep Specialist – After Life (Video)

First off, what a GREAT name for a group!   LegSweep Specialist!  Love it.  But there’s only so much in a name.  Do these guys have skills?  Yes, yes they do.  After Life has a mellow beat that relies on subtlety rather than being over the top. That enables the emcees to really show the world what they are capable of.

The team is comprised of Fuzz Jaxx and Sam Brown.  Their new album LegSweep is worth the listen.  Check it!

Nutso – Catchin Wreck (feat. Tony Born x Kon Boogie) (Video)

I didn’t see it coming but it indeed happen. Nutso dropped his collaborative project with producer Domingo yesterday, REDSunday.  That’s great news for all hip hop fans, as I am a huge fan of both the emcee and producer.  I copped and listened to the album last night and you will not be disappointed.

This particular cut, Catchin Wreck, features Tony Born and Kon Boogie, with my man Chinch 33 on the cuts.  You want bars?  They got bars flipping over a Wu-Styled production from the legend himself, Domingo.

Go get this album!

Grand Tapestry – 2 Sides (Video)

This video has been out for over a month now, but I am just now getting familiar with the Grand Tapestry collective (Eligh, Alam Khan, and Salaf Nader), and this song is so artistic and really beautiful.  Eligh and the team have created a sound unlike any other and this song is an amazing testament to beautiful molding of genres.  At this point, it’s rare to see something different in hip hop.  Sure we love the boom-bap…but there’s not too much different going on.  This is not just different…it’s dope.   The cello…sarangi…tell a much needed story along with Eligh narrating the duality of man.  There is a devil on the left…and an angel on the right.

Check the album if you love this song as much as I do!  I am making my way through it now.
