Man, I feel like I have been waiting for the new Soulslicers and Mayhem project for nearly a year, and this track with Akrobatik makes the anticipation all the greater.
If you are familiar with the Soulslicers production team, you know you are going to get top notch beats that are steepened in boom-bap. And when EMS vet, Mayhem links up with Akrobatik, the listener receives a bleak view of this bitter world we live in. It’s stark realism.

Here’s a new video from Slant’s album, MCMLXXXIV, which dropped last year. There’s a lot of fire on this one with Edd Bundy’s symphonic production, and Slant’s intense lyricism. Definitely something to check!
I was pretty unfamiliar with the excess Vas, but I saw he linked up Skrewtape and that’s always a good look so I thought I would check it out. I am left feeling pretty impressed with Vas. His style is unique and it really plays well over this Ill Clinton production.

I am sitting here listening to Born Unique and Lucky Loopiano’s latest album, Red Devil Chronicles, and am truly impressed with the how the rhymes and production go hand-in-hand. This is undoubtedly Unique’s best work to date.

The duo is slated to drop an album in 2017 so watch out for that release date.
Cas Metah dropped his latest album, Second Wind, a couple of weeks ago, and it’s about time we showed some love. The track, Forget About It, is remixed by Metah’s compadre Theory Hazit, and the sound embodies that of the entire album. Metah is putting all the naysayers on notice when folks might say that he’s too old to be doing his thing. Hip Hop is the Fountain Of Youth and he’s going to continue drinking until the water runs out!

Broken Vessel is the second video from U.G.’s new album, Portals. Again, you will not find a style similar to that of U.G. around. And neither will you find the production stylings of IDE. This project was molded and crafted for years…literally. The ear for perfection can be heard throughout the project. In the video description of this track, the words “mechanical” and “orchestra” are used. That sounds appropriate. This is a “mechanical orchestra” by U.G. and IDE leaving a unique stamp in 2016.
