Shabaam Sahdeeq and J57 fire off another couple of singles linked together in a common video thread. The emcee and producer brewed up something heavenly with their joint project, Precious Stones. And these are two stand out cuts from project featuring a hook and a few bars from none other than DV Alias Khryst! Check the record!
The Shelter – Deadlift b/w Magic Johnson (Video)
Wow. I was caught off guard by this and really am not up to par on The Shelter. But they made an indelible impression. The combination of tracks on this video single, Deadlift and Magic Johnson, really prove a point that their project, Opus, is something we ALL need to check out. I haven’t listened to the album yet but I did cop it. It’s also put out by Soul Spazm and that label has never done me wrong.
Planet Asia – Winter Time (Prod. By 38 Spesh) (Video)
Planet Asia and 38 Spesh prove to be a deadly combination throughout their collaborative project, Trust The Chain. And the video for Winter Time is just that…a cold cut. Enjoy!
Snowgoons – Wardance b/w Bad Generals (ft Recognize Ali, Lord Goat. DJ TMB, Ren Thomas) (Video)
This is a video combo single from the Snowgoons’ recent album, Snowgoons Infantry. It’s two dope tracks mashed together to showcase some of the talent that’s contained on their many highly regarded projects. The first track features (once again) Recognize Ali, Lord Goat, and DJ TMB. The second cut features bars from Ren Thomas who is just vicious with his sixteens these days.
Apollo Brown – 365 (feat. Ro Spit, NameTag, Ty Farris) (Video)
365 is given the visual testament as a tribute to Apollo Brown’s project, Sincerely, Detroit. Here you have that vintage Apollo Brown sound incorporated around wordsmiths, Ro Spit, NameTag, and Ty Farris. And I find myself really focused on Farris’ sixteen as his cadence really keeps you on the hook here.
Make sure you have this project in your collection!
Sean Price & Lil Fame – Wait For It (Video)
This is the short Lil Fame solo track from the joint venture with the late and great Sean Price, Price Of Fame. And with Fame you always get that high energy microphone mastery this time over some amped horns produced by the man himself. Definitely check this project from 2019 if you have not already.
Fastlife x Madhattan – Chopt (Video)
Fastlife and Madhattan drop off the visuals for the single Chopt, from their recently released album, No Politics. You also get bars from Nems which is always a bonus around these parts.
M-Dot – Days Are All The Same (Video)
I am of course late on sharing this but this is my favorite track from M-Dot’s album from 2018, Ego And The Enemy. I assuredly have featured this track previously but now we have the video single released and it narrates (visually) M-Dot’s tale perfectly. I love that they went with the 60s(?) cartoon format to illustrate what sheep people have become and slaves to an invisible standard.
As I have said before…M-Dot encapsulates the trending mindstate without flaw while Hi-Tek creates a most compelling audible journey. Simply an amazing song (and now video)!
Big Shug – No Real Rappers (ft. M-Dot x Singapore Kane) (Video)
Fresh video single from Big Shug’s new album, The Diamond Report. It’s a really dope cut that features bars and talent from Boston’s own, M-Dot and Singapore Kane. All different styles with a very consistent message. The age of the ‘real rapper’ is dead so everyone needs to stop frontin’. The production comes from Reel Drama and is a stand out.
Serge Severe- Guillotine Dreams (Video)
Serge Severe is back and rhyming with a razor’s edge with his new project Dream Under Fire. To illustrate the blade with which he cuts we have the lead track from the album, Guillotine Dreams, which features production from Theory Hazit. Every time Severe illustrates the skill…it’s worth peeping the painting.
