Q-Unique proves that he can do it all with his new track, Torch Them All. He produced something special with that sitar , along with writing some verses that induce a scorched earth policy.
Jern Eye – The Emperor (Video)
Jern Eye shares his spiritual experiences with us on his new video single, The Emperor, which is off of his latest project, Rose Croix. It’s definitely got a ‘medicine man’ kind of vibe, and with the foggy backdrop you feel the mysticism collide with lyricism and the visual. Really well done.
Che Uno – Chariots (ft. New Villain) (Video)
Here’s an ominous heatrock from Che Uno, and his recently released project. FUEGONHIGH. King Bondalero concocts a beat that just sounds grimy and dark. The bassline just says you should turn off the lights when listening to this joint. And the contrasting styles of New Villain and Che Uno play really well off of each otther for this song, Chariots.
Johaz x Nottz – Slay (ft. HookMaster Jaz) (Video)
People are not talking enough about this Johaz and Nottz collaboration that dropped a few weeks ago entitled, The Haz Orphanage. This track is bananas and Nottz continues to etch his name in hip hop lore as one of the top producers period. I love the samples and sound he builds here and Johaz delivers a lyrically energetic and impressive performance.
Dan Johns – Go Time (Video)
New project out, Quiet Mind EP.
38 Spesh & Harry Fraud – Sal’s Place (Video)
38 Spesh is the complete artist in my opinion, as he is equal parts emcee and producer. The man can do it all and I love to hear him spit over some vintage Harry Fraud production. Fraud has a keen ear for well placed samples and neck snapping drums, and I love how Spesh integrates equal parts life story and philopshy.
This joint is a gem that can be found off of the collaborative album, BEYOND BELIEF.
Rasheed Chappell – Narcan (prod. by Little Vic) (Video)
Rasheed Chappell and Little Vic linking up once again for their video single, Narcan. “This is more than just art, it’s arson”. Chappell summarized this cut in one line. He stands a man apart with his music, not settling in with any particular trends, and gimmicks and just giving you that raw, yet polished work. And the chemistry with Vic is unquestionable as these two have rolled out a pair of sonic triumphs.
Album, A Portrait Of, drops on December 9th.
Reckonize Real & Weapon E.S.P – Be Wise (Video)
I had just listened to Reckonize Real’s latest album, Subterranean Obscura, earlier today. And when I first heard this track lead off, I was hooked. I REALLY love how he articulated this beat! Hard to put into words how this vocal sound impacts the song. It’s almost like a chant that provides a white canvas for Weapon E.S.P. to spit a juxtaposition of bars that will keep the head reeling.
Rasheed Chappell – Manna From Heaven (prod. by Little Vic) (Video)
Rasheed Chappell dropping some street insight with proper poetic perspective over a production that Little Vic simply made cry. You hear how though one might be removed from those streets you grew up on, you still embrace and stay connected. This joint is short but really poignant.
Chappell has a new album dropping, A Portrait Of, on December 9th. Mark it down. Not to be missed.
Planet Asia x Body Bag Ben – Heist the Crown (Video)
New video single up for the title track from Body Bag Ben and Planet Asia’s collaborative album, Heist The Crown. As always, PA delivers the goods over some sinister boom bap music box beats from Ben. These guys are about as prolific as they come when it comes to crafting music in the last couple of years. Coming at you in a torrid pace.
