Boot Camp Clik – Wotcha Call Strength (Video)

This is just special! The Boot Camp Click back together again, and delivering their sound with ‘strength’. They are picking up right where they left off decades ago with an incredibly hard hitting song, Wotcha Call Strength.

Ruste Juxx starts it off with one of the toughest verses of the year, then followed by an equally vicious bevy of bars from Rockness Monsta. And it doesn’t stop there and just continues to the very last bar.

The Arcitype laces the perfect beat for this posse cut. Top Notch from the opening bell.

Premiere: M-Dot – The Atonement (prod. by Pete Rock) (Video)

M-Dot gave me the privilege to be able to debut his new video for the Pete Rock produced heater, The Atonement, off of his recently released album, egO anD The eneMy 2: A Dissolute Paradise.

M-Dot has that knack for making music that connects a listener to the artist, often hitting on topics that so many of us can relate to. But every once in a while, a man needs to flex what differentiates him from the rest of us. And hence we have The Atonement, which is unabated lyrical tenacity unleashed over a gritty Pete Rock beat.

The quotables can’t be extrapolated when they are woven together this tightly, which really showcases M-Dot’s gifts as an emcee.

Gritty video. Gritty sound. Supreme talent. Perfect Blend.

Speaker Bullies (Supastition & Praise) – Godspeed (ft. Skyzoo) (Video)

What else can I speak on about this song? We featured the single last week and this week we get the video. It’s one of the dopest joints out from 2023, which makes the forthcoming album, Art Of Disrespect (due out July 7th) one of the most anticipated of the year. Between this cut, and their single Bad Rap, the Speaker Bullies are building a buzz that’s impossible to ignore. Again featuring an amazing verse from Skyzoo, Supastition and Praise are doing something remarkable.

New Villain & Enkay – Sword Of Damocles (Video)

This joint is featured as an interlude on New Villain and Enkay’s new project, From The Villain With Love II. But this makes for a dope song and video.

I’ve purchased a few New Villain projects within the last year and the man has high ceiling as an artist. Nice flow, excellent wordplay, great mic presence, and seemingly works with some excellent beatsmiths. And Enkay delivers on the production portion here, lacing some heat.

Dope track.

Teflon – Contraband (prod. By DJ Premier) (Video)

DJ Premier produced single for Teflon from his forthcoming project 2 Sides To Every Story. And let me tell you, NOTHING gets your attention as a hip hop head as a classic Primo beat. And that’s what we have here. A classic primo beat. This joint is fire. And Teflon really sets a high standard for this album with this effort. He matches the production’s energy with some high octane bars. This song is hype!

The album should be dropping at some point this month and pre-orders are out now for physicals.

J. Beers & Rim – Ballantine X (Video)

RIM just continues to make moves. He’s seemingly bringing his talents to a new joint every other week which is great because that talent definitely abounds. And it’s great people are recognizing that with all these features.

This joint is much more uptempo, fun, and that vibe. The horns by J. Beers give this track just a touch of funky. But you know what, RIM can handle and flip any production. We heard him flip on that new J. Hart song just a few days ago, and brings that elite skill to this track as well.

You can hear this joint on the new collaborative album, Verse Ability.

Don’t ever try to jump in my lane if you don’t have the drive

Rah Scrilla x Profound – Hustla (ft. Daniel Son) (Video)

A really dope track from last year from Rah Scrilla and Profound79 featuring the always cheffin’ Daniel Son.

This is that ‘get money’ street narrative and one that’s executed to perfection. This string laced production is the vibe for the emcees and to speak on their prerogatives. And we all know that Daniel Son has NEVER brought a weak verse…ever.

This track can be found on the album, Smooth Sounds, which dropped earlier this year.
