It’s a dope new track from producer/emcee, Muneshine. The production from Presto is flammable and the rhymes make you want to get up and go get it (whatever “it” might be for you). It’s certainly high energy and can be found on Muneshine’s forthcoming album, IN TRANSIT. The visuals are also very well done, I must say.
Spit Gemz – Serpents (ft. G.S. Advance) (Video)
Spit Gemz brings back some music from one of my personal favorite mixtapes, Welcome To Hellzgate. I can listen to that album time and time again and it’s nice to see him continue to give those joints the special video treatment though I am not fond of the serpents…tough track though.
C-Rayz Walz – STIMULI (I’m Ready) (ft. L.I.F.E.Long, John Robinson & Jasiri X)
C-Rayz Walz has been making GREAT music for a LONG time. I think his music has been going under the radar though lately, and it’s up to us fans to spread the word. Stimuli reunites two founding members of the Stronghold family, Walz and L.I.F.E. Long. Their spittery is incredibly polished. John Robinson then adds his laid back approach to the mic while Jasiri X plays the anchor and ends the rhyme salvo with a furious sixteen.
If you are not in the know, Walz has released a new project entitled: ALMIGHTY: The Solar Facts There are so many ill bars on the project that you can just set aside your abacus and forget the count. Enjoy!
Dyverse The 1st – Me No More (ft. Flo Simpson) (Video)
The homie Dee Metto is always informing me of some good music out there and the same holds true when put the word out on this Dyverse The 1st track, Me No More. Joe Paps injects a little bit of soul into the boom bap to create this joint. A little bit of old school flavor in the new school era.
Serge Severe – Strong Coffee (Video)
Serge Severe and 5th Sequence drop a video single for the track Strong Coffee, which is off their collaborative project, Boom Bap & Bars Vol. 1. And serge really says it better than I can: I am not the one you should be oblivious too
That’s truth in the booth!
Ullnevano – Donna Deri (Video)
The talented Ullnevano drops another smooth single that corresponds well to those of us not incredibly embittered by Valentine’s Day festivities. It’s chill and enjoyable, so sit back and let the vibe take you.
Pawz One – Bringing It Back (ft. Self Provoked) (Video)
Oh? You didn’t have that neck brace handy? Cuz you are going to need the chiropractor for this song right here. I am a little late on this, but in truth, just in time for when Pawz One drops his album, Face The Facts. I know this album is going to make a statement for 2014. There’s no question about that. I have heard a couple of cuts from it at this point and each of those joints was certified. In regards to this joint, producer Default, put his name in the hat for beat of the year. This production to use the words of the incomparable C-Rayz Walz is “dumb hot, like retarded group sex”. Both the emcees bring their unique blend of boom bap to the microphone. Self Provoked looks incredibly young, but his skill level beguiles his age. Dope track. Album drops on Tuesday.
2 Man Cypher – Broken (ft. Koren Jackson)
If this song and video doesn’t get you, you are cold m’fer. The illest duo making hip hop takes a look at the bottom of the barrel of humanity with their single, Broken. Sleep and Cocaine Chris are like the ghosts in the room looking at the harm a man can do not only to himself but also his loved ones. If this song sounded dope to you, then I suggest you peep their new project, Queen City Bastards, because the album is loaded with top choice cuts.
Kue the Vandal – The Antichrist (Prod. by Dope Antelope) (Video)
Oh the sound…the sound is amazing. Dope Antelope opens Pandora’s Box to concoct a beat like this. The sample of Big Pun used is simply awesome but the track also has this mysterious quality. Kue the Vandal has no problem dropping the irreverence on the track. This track is coming off the duo’s forthcoming project, The Snuff Project EP.
L*Roneous x 2bers – Second Sun (ft. Def-I) (Video)
I missed big time on this. L*Roneous and the soulful hip hop group, 2bers dropped this video/song in late January as the lead single to their collaborative project, Utopian Blues. And as I was prepping my review of their project, I just happened to come across it. It’s a great song, backed by an exceptionally creative video. Enjoy and make sure you cop this EP!
