This new song, from new artist, Marshall Sinclair, is nothing short of amazing.   The production from Taavi Haapla is beautiful.  I love the instrument combinations used over the beat.  It gives you this easy going vibe.  The emcees on this cut all have unique and diverse styles lending themselves to incredible creativity.  It features a couple of my favorite and under-heralded emcees in Frank Ramz and Devine Carama. We are all on notice now as Marshall Sinclair readies his new project, Fathom, which as of yet, has no date.

Single You Out: Fel Sweetenberg – The Name Itself (prod. by DJ Brans)

It’s been a loooong minute since I have heard new music from Fel Sweetenberg, but I loved his last album,  The Sophmore Jinx.  It was one of the first albums I reviewed back in 2010.   This track make it appear that he took no days off as it’s just as, if not better, than his earlier material.  Some of that credit probably needs to be given to boom bap specialist, DJ Brans for lacing that beat.

Single You Out: Passalacqua – Long Hair Anthem

One of my favorite duos is back at it and innovating.  The first thing you will notice here is the awesome cover art.  Very 70’s!  The second thing you will bear witness to is the AWESOME production from Eddie Logix.  The production is perfection with that killer sample in conjunction with those drums.  But Passalacqua injects their own vision of perfection onto the track with clever lyricism and a chemistry that gets better and better with every release.  They are incredibly versatile.  I started this blog working with Mister and Blaksmith and that’s not changing any time soon.

This cut is part of a compilation CF HUSTLE: Portrait of A Gentleman and that will be dropping on March 24th.   Stay Tuned!

Single You Out: Scribbling Idiots – Victorious (ft. Red Cloud, Cas Metah, Playdough. Sojourn, Manchild, Jurny Big)

Good Gravy!  There’s some dope lyricism to be found on this cut right here!  This is yet another DOPE cut from the Scribbling Idiots’ forthcoming album, Invitation Only.   The emcees are guided by the strings within the production and all emcees drop some dope gems but this line from Cas Metah had me run it back a couple of times:

Leave the street sweeper in the back soldier / Or I’ll be forced to leave blood on the door like Passover

Step your bible game up!
