Nefew has a new track out that features the sounds and samples of jazz legend, Charles Mingus. It’s a really slick track that features duos own production as well, flexing their dexterity. Enjoy this, as it seems they are going to be cranking out some free joints for the foreseeable future.
Single You Out: J-Live – Microphone Stamina (ft. Ekundayo)
J-Live has a new album dropping in a few weeks entitled, How Much Is Water?. As most of us who have paid attention to hip hop within the last decade, J-Live is known for his word play mastery. He is the true definition of the word ’emcee’. He just has so much dexterity when it comes to his flow. His word combinations and ideas are anything but standard. He has been ahead of the curve for much of his career and I believe this release will be no different.
Single You Out: Dirt Disciples – Panoramic (ft. Torae)
First and foremost, Dirt Disciples consists of the raw and gritty duo, Rome Clientel and DJ Concept and they are about to hit you with a new project, The Ambition, which is dropping on October 9th. This single features a very recognizable beat as well as guest rhymer in, Torae. In the joint, Panormic, you find no shortage of boom bap, that is sure to ensnare hip hop fans off all walks of life.
Single You Out: Juan Deuce – You Right (prod. by J57)
Some new music from Juan Deuce is here and more is on the way with the J57 produced project, Sock Money, dropping in a few days (September 23rd) on Soulspazm Records. Deuce is great because he is an innovator. It’s never standard fair when it comes to his verses. That style is complimented perfectly with J57 on the production. These guys do differently oh so well.
Single You Out: Taiyamo Denku – Stone Cold (ft. Kool G Rap and War Beyah)
Taiyamo Denku and producer D-Cypha recently released a new album, Radioactive. The album exclusively contains bangers. D-Cypha has a real knack from collecting dope sounds and making phenomenal music. Denku, over the years, has proved adaptable to those very same rhythms that Cypha creates. In an album full of features, he sounds comfortable on every track. This track featuring Kool G Rap and War Beyah is the perfect illustration, because sometimes we all run out of fucks to give.
Single You Out: Wax – This One’s On Me
Wax has a new song where he is picking up the tab and lifting spirits. This One’s On Me is all about friendship overcoming hardship and is just an outstanding song that breaks the monotony of negativity that seems to come in a deluge on a daily basis. So next weekend, when that check comes in, make sure you treat the down-trodden homie….
Single You Out: Joey the Jerk – Winning the War (ft. Playdough)
“…we may have lost the battle but we’re winning the war…”
True indeed fellas because this track is fire! I love the wordplay exchanges between Joey the Jerk and Playdough on this cut, Winning the War. The production really has a playful but certainly dope vibe to it. There’s a certain irony to the title of this song when compared to the content. Usually when you see a track entitled this, you would expect rough and confrontational rhymes, but what you get is much more vibrant which again shows that these guys are winning with their approach, not with someone elses.
Single You Out: Evil Ebenezer – Get Mine
I had seen Evil Ebenezer’s new album, All That’s Left, was available for purchase a few days ago, but I let it pass me by…at the time. But after hearing this track I am going to soon revisit that decision. This track is pretty dope. Ebenezer’ flow is pretty crisp over some solid production. I easily found myself nodding my head to this track.
Single You Out: Little Vic – Fear Not
It’s been a loooong minute for me and for Little Vic to post up some new material. But this marks the perfect time to get back at it and share something good with you all. Little Vic drops a flurry of nice lyricism over a guitar laced track by 88-Keys.
Eventually we will hear that ever elusive full length that I have been waiting with baited breath for.
Single You Out: Finale – The Revival (feat. Invincible & Pierre Anthony)
It’s time for a little musical rebirth with Finale’s new single, The Revival. In addition to Finale, the song features another Detroit emcee who has been seldom heard from on the microphone as of late, Invincible. But as we soon see, the years may have passed, but the skill is not diminished. Dope track.
The new album drops on August 14th.
