I was kinda holding on to this cut a little longer than necessary just to keep shining some light on Eastkoast and Phalo Pantoja’s project, Merciless Beauty. That album is out now and it something beautiful to behold. It’s lyricism that you can sink your teeth into and music that you can vibe to. It’s perfect synergy. Where Eva Ya From is indicative of the greater movement.
Single You Out: The Monster & Mr. Arnell – You’ve Been Warned (ft. Krazy Race)
Zilla and Lawrence Arnell are back at it again with a new project entitled, The Monster & Mr. Arnell 2. You’ve Been Warned is a Moonshine produced banger that features West Coat lyricist, Krazy Race. The emcees deliver solid 16s overa really dynamic beat. So I think folks are going to be appeased with the new offering.
Let me know!!!
Single You Out: Royal Illness – Wolfgang (ft. Madd Militia)

Royal Illness is working on a new project and this is a sampling on what he has in store. You may remember us featuring some tracks from his project, Soundtrack To The War, Vol. 2 a couple of years ago. That project was certainly dope and this new single bodes well for things to come. One of the great things about Royal Illness is that along with emceeing, his productions are ambtious in scope and strong in execution. I am sure you will love this joint.
Look for the new album, Mercenaries Creed, this year!
Single You Out: Sketch McGuiney – Ferris Bueller (ft. DJ Ragz)
Sketch McGuiney paying some homage to the cinematic title that celebrates it’s 30 year anniversary this year. Of course, this track is not quite as laid back as the movie. McGuiney gets abrasive and gritty with this joint. The beat, the scratching, and the lyricism are all on high levels of sinister.
New album coming out in May…dope!
Single You Out: Grey Sky Appeal – Evil 80s
New jawn from Grey Sky Appeal! I am loving the flavor that this track is delivering. You get the usual dope lines from the emcees, but the production on this joint is oh so beautiful. I love the synth and electronica that accompanies the boom bap.
These guys just have that creative knack that others are so desperately lacking.
…that’s why I fall in love with things completely morbid…
Single You Out: Saran Rap – Ferocious (ft. Agallah x Smoovth x Spit Gemz)
Here is a track, Ferocious, from Saran Rap’s recent EP, Heavy Crates. I am putting this out there because I think some heads are missing out on this project. It’s got a few heavy hitters in terms of emcees, and definitely has that boom bap appeal. I certainly think it fits the mold of what we are trying to do here at HipHopDependency.
Of course on this track you’ve got Agallah, Smoovth, and Spit Gemz slaying mics, and who doesn’t like that line up. Enjoy!
Single You Out: Binary Star – Slang Blade (Reprised)
One Be Lo takes a Binary Star classic from 1996, beefs up the drums, and then give it a renewed, 2016 lyrical twist.
Ifyou’renot up on Binary Star and their classic album, Masters Of The Universe, then you are probably not from around these parts. But, nonetheless, that album is timeless, so stop wasting time and cop that if you are just catching wind of it.
One Be Lo also has a reworking of another track which I will share in the course of the next few day. There’s no need to over due it though. Pace ourselves….
Single You Out: Little Vic – Glass Home
Little Vic is back with a new single that may actually symbolize the birth of a new project, White Devil. But regardless, this joint is simply vicious. The flow is nasty and really dominates every aspect of this song.
I was all about the punchlines then the wordplay grew up / If the cake is worth the candles then bring your birthday suit…
I will let you know if hear ANYTHING else about an album. You know I am waiting.
Single You Out: Grand Opus – Cen Cal Profile (ft. Planet Asia, Fashawn, and Overcome)
If you are not familiar with Grand Opus, it’s about time you get familiar. Grand Opus is comprised of Joc Scholar and Centric. They dropped two incredibly singles last year and this, their third, hmeans their new album, Forever, is around the corner. Dropping on March 22nd.
Their sound is ill and this time they bring in the mix a couple of heavyweights in Planet Asia and Fashawn.
Get ready…
