El Prez and Professor H have an INCREDIBLY fresh project out now, Angels With Dirty Faces. The whole things is soulful and has such a smooth vibe to it. And when there are so many projects hitting so heavy (which is great…don’t get me wrong) it’s nice to hear something that you can simply vibe to. Yeah….this music is a cleansing experience! And, Get Up, features the legend….DJ Rhettmatic…none of you can front on this!
Prozack Turner comes with some new freshness featuring Murs, on the new cut, Sunshine & Fog. It’s got a playful yet soulful vibe with uptempo elements, that go hand in hand with the artist’s mantra of keep doing what he loves…hip hop music. Definitely something to enjoy with a smile on your face!
Nef’s producer album, Tabula Rasa, drops on on April 2nd. It is loaded quite heavily with some of hip hop’s illest lyricists. I already got my pre-order in based on the line up and the dopeness you hear on this track featuring Lil Fame and Termanology. There’s so much good happening in this track with guitar samples, the horns, and just the energy that accompanies the emcees here. Can’t wait for the project.
I’ve actually been waiting for Def3 to make a new album, and it looks like I am going to get my wish, on June 4th, when Weddings and Funerals drops. But it gets better as he has producer Late Night Radio back behind the boards. Their album, Small World, is something that I try and listen to as much as possible. There are so many great cuts off of that project. It is my hope that we have great continuity from that project to this one. The pairing make original, funky, fun, and at times introspective music. And I think we are off to a great start here. This one has some very unique musical texture. So if you enjoy hip hop that steps outside the usual and customary…this is for you!
Jake Haw and INF released a project called, Mountain Of Black Glass, and this is some illness you can find from the project, and overall dope! Certified master wordsmith, Taboo joins the track along with Dystrakted. I really love the production on this whole joint. Lots of acoustic guitar mixed with neck snapping drums. If that’s your thing (and why wouldn’t it be) you should check it out.
Cyne seldom releases new music these days, but whenever they do….it’s gold. They have a style all unto themselves, and in this case delving into the spiritual, the religious, and the social. So let them peer in your consciousness with this track, Reset Sunset.
Good gracious! This track right here is simply the platinum standard for 2021. This production from Body Bag Ben is immaculate. And Chino XL continues to add to the legend he has garnered throughout the decades. The lines involving “golem” and “paying back student loans”…had me run this song back several times on their own merit. This track is something special.
The Quarter Inch Kings and Zagnif Nori continue their grind this time adapting the moniker of wrestler Brett Hart. But indeed this track is executed flawlessly, as they have been in the series of joints they have put out recently.
Tek Bully just released a new EP, Legend Has It, produced entirely by iTrak. I am listening to the whole joint right now and am sharing this rock/blues infused joint, Legend Energy. It’s got a different vibe that sets itself apart. I really like the production and how it harnesses the emcee’s energy. Tek Bully impresses every time he blesses a mic and you can hear it in these bars.
Love it! Dray Yard, producer our of Belarus, unleashes this single with two heralded emcees in Juice and Capitol I-Man. And if you aren’t up on these guys, then you need to step up your hip hop history. These men are incredibly gifted artists who still perform and articulate at very high levels. And Dray Yard continues to provide dope production and impeccable pairings of emcees, which has become something he is most definitely known for.
