Here’s another sampling from France’s Finest NY Minute remix project which features a grip of dope producers from the country. This particular track is a reworking of The Opposition’s By Design by Mistamaff. Enjoy and cop the project…it’s really dope!
CuzOH! Black keeps delivering dope joints for me to post on the blog. This time he teams up with DMV stalwart, Wordsmith for a fun and funky track. I always like to hear cool tracks to vibe to and these guys did it correctly. Strada is a pretty slept on producer. Although I have only heard him with DMV cats I think he has a sound that a lot of artists should be looking for.
I like the title…Death Circle. Seems right up my alley. The beat is a little more standard fair for DJ Bless than what I am used to hearing. It’s still dope, just not as much going on. The emcees are all reasonably good, but the third verse is given with a little more tenacity. I don’t know too much (or anything) about the group to give you details as to who is who…just trust me, you can tell a difference. I will have to hear more before I comment on Rhythm Writers but this is certainly above par.
The Harvest is the first song off of Rome Cee and Greenspan’s collaborative project, entitled CEE-SPAN which should drop next month. This is my first listen to Greenspan and I am already a huge fan of Rome Cee’s after listening to his previous albums. Both of them hold down the mic duties quite nicely while August Flight Gordon locks down the production with a very soulful vibe. I also like that the two voices contrast against each other.
This probably isn’t what you think it is…I am absolutely loving this beat from Jerz. It’s so dynamic with the horns and the guitar plucks. The emcee, Crimson, is the perfect fit for this joint. He has a little bit of a drawl that fits this beat quite well. I really enjoy this song and it’s coming off of Jerz’s full length project, State Of Mind, dropping in June.
New music from Scheme and The Analyst from their forthcoming project. Scheme has been in the game a while dropping lots of dope, and perhaps underappreciated, gems. The Analyst laces a very smooth, yet boom-bap production. It’s simply music to glide to as Scheme puts the world on his back lyrically.
Nems breaking a little new ground with this new track. He’s getting a little more personal on this track, letting you see a different side to the FYL movement. The beat is minimalistic but really works with the sample choice. Here’s the information regarding the track as stated on the YouTube page:
Nems leaks the first track off his “Fuck Your Love” EP titled ” [Unwanted] Freedom”. The EP drops in mid May and will be Nems first solo project in nearly two years. Executive produced by Busy of BKLYN STICKUP, “Fuck Your Love” will surely be Nems most personal work to date.
May this track serve as a reminder as to how dope this duo is. I love how maticulous weaves the wolf’s howl throughout the production. It certainly gives you that dark vibe that something wicked is coming in the darkness. The Audible Doctor is also really able to showcase his rhyming talents as well, indicating he is just as good as an emcee as he is a producer.
Here comes some of that boom map flavor from Sincere and Reks. This track is definitely Golden Era reminiscent in how the beats hits and the two emcees flow across it. Evidentally you can get this off of Sincere’s project, Sincerely Yours.
This joint is from DPSMG signee, Toke. Dead Poet Society has been in my music rotation since their self-titled EP. They always drop some material so I wanted to check this new artist out. Truthfully, a minute and thirty seconds is not a good enough listen, but what I did hear I liked. I just wish it was a full length cut so I could see what he was truly capable of. But we will keep our eyes and ears open.
