Darkness serves as a bonus song to Godilla’s latest release, Altered Beast. The track once again features one of the most coveted emcees in the game, Spit Gemz. The track is dark, yet hype and contains many an ill bar. Be sure to cop the album as it is free and houses a grip of tracks with the same tenacity as this one.
I am bored with the music being concocted over the course of the last couple of weeks at least in terms of the singles dropping. It’s just the same mundane material. But leave it to Keno Beats to wake me up out of the funk with Jewels Remix which will be featured on his collaborative album with Don Streat, Bare My Soul. I’ve always liked Don Streat. I just wish I could get a full length project from him. Looks like I might get my wish…
I first featured Uncle Sam about a year ago. I thought he showed enormous upside and had the great foundation for a career in music. I felt he just needed a bit more polish. He sent me his mixtape soon after and I thought that the OG tracks that were on there were innovative and dope, but I kinda left him hanging without giving him my feedback. Hip hop is at it’s best when it means something to somebody and when a message is being imparted. The Digital Martyrs enlist Hall Of Fame lyricist, Ras Kass to discuss politics, society, and the hypocrisy in both. It’s a tightly woven track all together but it’s hard for anyone to outshine a Ras Kass guest verse. The Ballad Of The Bullet is the Martyr’s forthcoming full length…be on the lookout.
It’s another overseas banger, this time from German producer Whatson. He uses a creative blend of rock and hip for this cut while extending the mic duties to veteran emcees, Planetary, M-Dot, and Aims. It’s a definite head nodder. This song is lifted from Whatson’s new EP Detour (which I know nothing about but will remedy soon)
I had to bump somebody else’s post to get this one up there immediately. Would it be proper to say that this joint is cold? Tacky maybe, but proper yes. I have never heard Blue Legacy spit a single bar before but this joint has me as an instant fan. Got a real nice flow and The Militia cook up on of those dark, in the shadows, night stalking beats. You won’t regret checking this.

King Mez joins Alpha Male Society on this song from group’s latest album, Background Check 2. The song is produced by Leland Jones. On a whole the joint has a lot of energy and gets the blood pumpin’ the instant it comes on.
This cut from CookBook and DJ Rhettmatic’s forthcoming project, Phantom Menace, represents the melding of three really ill Cali crews. LA Symphony, Hieroglyphics, and The Beat Junkies all represent well on this joint. The beat is especially impressive. It’s like an uptempo symphony. The project is dropping this Tuesday so be on the lookout!
This song has got everything. It’s got a trio of dope emcees. It has the great production from HHD favorite, SciFi Stu. It also has the X-Factor in the cuts by Chinch 33. It’s time people start noticing the gift he has in chopping it up proper. I find I enjoy pretty much any song where he has a credit.
I am not sure if this is a single for a forthcoming project, but enjoy it any ways…
