ethemadassassin and SciFi Stu link up again for what could be considered a “smooth banger”. SciFi Stu touches the keys for a mellow and airy track but ethemadassassin gives the joint some contrast with his tough baritone bravado recapping the era when he came up. This song is a prelude to ethemadassassin’s album, Soul On Fire, which drops on September 17th.
Single You Out: Solo For Dolo – Golden
Solo For Dolo is not a household name at this point but it should start to be garnering recognition. The man is super talented. He’s got great word play and show cases a more relaxed style over this slick Don Producci production. No word on what project this might surface on, but it’s here and available now, so that’s something.
Single You Out: Evan Black – Let Em Know (Ft. Emilio Rojas)
Here’s another artist I know nothing about: Evan Black. But this joint sounds good to me. Of course you got the vet, Emilio Rojas contributing a verse, and King I Divine on the boards so that’s always going to help. Apparently he has a project dropping on September 10th entitled, The Arrival. That seems appropriately.
Single You Out: Sutter Kain – Man Behind The Mask Pt. 1 (Produced By DJ Bless)
New music from Never So Deep front man, Sutter Kain (DJ Bless). Every one knows that he is a master at producing music for others but this time he lets listeners and fans get a look at the man behind the mask. He gives us a glimpse into years prior and what’s gone in to make him the man he is today. Bless is a perfectionist and pays attention to every minute detail of his music and that really shows in the final product here. Enjoy this….
Single You Out: Fredro Starr X Audible Doctor – Made In The Streets Remix
Piano induced Audible Doctor production leads the way for Fredro Starr on this joint. And what was once supposed to be a small EP between the two has now become an album set to drop later this year. That’s going to be dope!
Single You Out: Little Vic – Let Alone
Is this the first offering off of Little Vic’s album, Widowmaker? Why , yes. Yes it is! It’s exciting because I have been waiting for years for Little Vic to put out something official and here it comes. Let Alone is a somber joint that is also produced by Vic. He’s got the keys moving as he discusses the caveats of relationships in there different stages. Truly an artist for the people with his conversational style. Enjoy!
Single You Out: Famoso – War In My Mind
Famoso is staying busy in preparation for his release of the B.A.S.E. project. War In My Mind is another single from the project. The dope production is from Notez and Ayden. The sample they use for the chorus is a nice touch, while Famoso stays consistent dropping ill bars with the concept of moving forward in his life and career and not looking back.
Single You Out: Akir – Future (ft. Immortal Technique)
It has been a minute since I have heard from Akir and it’s good to hear these new sounds, only to be enhanced by the guest appearance of Immortal Technique. The beat by The Sound at first sets you out upon a safari and then starts to add layer upon layer of instrumentation. It is a musical build up until a catharsis. Akir’s new album, The Plan, drops on September 24th.
Single You Out: OnlyOne – Might Be Purple Might Be Pink (ft. Illmaculate & Epp)
More good music from OnlyOne’s forthcoming Cult Classic 2. Illmaculate and Epp joined him on this psychedelic journey. The beat is trippy, like looking through a kaleidoscope (which is a fitting comparison in regards to the song’s title) , but the verses are that straightforward dopeness we come to expect from the Sandpeople crew.
