DJ J Hart – Brookland (ft Eddie Kaine & RIM) (Video)

This is song is in going in instant rotation. The exchange between Eddie Kaine and RIM is reminisicent of that Smoothe and Trigga Broken Language joint which has long been the gold standard of bar exchanges. But Kaine and RIM have such chemistry on the mic, and they make this seamless. And DJ J Hart laces an iconic production that really embodies that chemistry. One of the dopest tracks this year.

Apparently this is going to drop On DJ J Hart’s Green EP dropping in the Fall which all the sudden feels too far.

Dub Sonata — Cold Alliance (ft. Double A.B.) (Video)

I was actually just listening to Dub Sonata’s Tranquilizer Dart project yesterday and that my friends is top notch music. The track with Double A.B., Cold Alliance, serves as the intro to that project and really sets a dope tone for the project as a whole. Dub Sonata laces the dark melodic tones, and Double A.B. gives us some dope wordplay that shows various transitions in the bars, keeping those ears attached to those headphones.

Single You Out: Substance810 & Observe Since ’98 – Dividends

Substance810 and Observe Since ’98 link back for another project, The Lions Share 2: Gold Shillings. That project is dropping next Friday, but if you want and early listen, they have a listening party that you can RSVP for tonight on bandcamp.

Meanwhile, this one of the first two cuts released in in full and in advance of the project and Dividends builds that anticiaption properly. Observe cooks up a dark and haunting production, and Substance810 gives you the lion’s roar with an unrelenting verse. They ace it.

Snowgoons & Juxx Diamondz – Don’t Get It Confused (Video)

Snowgoons and Juxx Diamondz link up for the hard hitting track, Don’t Get It Confused.

Snowgoons have been the epitome of banging hip hop for two decades straight bringing their boom bap sonic scapes to quite literally hundreds of emcees through the years.

This time they have Diamondz blessing us with some solid sixteens laden in fire and realism that knock just as heavy as the production.

WateRR & Lupara – Cheebah & C-Notes (ft. Farmabeats and Rufus Sims) (Video)

New video single from Waterr and The Lupara’s latest project, Compendium Of Arcanum.

This one features Rufus Sims on the mic and Farmabeats on production and has a real artistic flavor about it…both lyrically and visually. The beat is that freshly paved smooth, and these emcees are painting something beautiful with these bars.

Definitely check the project as a whole. Much good music to sink your ears into.

Single You Out: IAMGAWD x Clypto – Dog Food

IAMGAWD and Clypto have linked up for this new project, Bloodstained Suede. And let me tell you, I have my ears perpetually pealed back from this emcee. His pen game and flow is vicious on levels that not too many people are hitting. His flow over this engaging production from Clypto just puts people on notice. We don’t toss the word ‘incredible’ around too often around here, but THIS flow here is just that…incredible.

You plan to dance with the devil, throw on the right shoes

Shaz Illyork x Buon Anni – Queens Gambit / Back On Schedule (Video)

Shaz Illyork and Buon Anni’s project last year, Sober After Midnight, was one of the BEST EPs to drop last year. It was a nine track project, and it was laced venomously with incredible pen game and really dope production. This year, the duo release a video single, Queen’s Gambit and Back On Schedule. And it gives you just a sampling of the potency to be found on the entire project.

This is just incredibly dope. Please don’t sleep on this.

38 Spesh – DARK & GRIM (prod. by 38 Spesh) (Video)

This is my favorite track from 38 Spesh’s project, GunSmoke. This joint is just so dark and ominous, and while it only contains one verse from Spesh, he packs an amazing punch! His sharp bars and wordplay over his own soundscape further solidifies this man’s greatness as an artist. No man, and no thing is standing in Spesh’s way.

…I put your rats in the graveyard…I hate y’all…got your name attached to this bullet like a trademark.

JustMe & Cas Metah – Part Time (Video)

This is an incredibly dope song that is extremely relatable to me as a blogger and supporter of the music. It’s actually incredibly inspirational. JustMe and Cas Metah take a break from their day jobs to show you just how ill they can be on the side. Life has an evolution for the independent hip hop artists. People get married, have families, and have to support that life in a way music may not be able to provide. But, that passion and skill level still remains sharp over the years as when time and space presents itself, these artists continue to show and prove!

I am not sure who produced this smooth beat but that’s a really dope production. And you can find this joint off their recently released album, The New 93′.
