Single You Out: Kyle Hubbard – One Time, Two Times (ft. Roosh Williams)

This is the first single off of Kyle Hubbard’s forthcoming album, You’re Not That Special.   This really is just the tip of the iceberg.   You are definitely going to want to hear the rest of that joint when it drops on March 20th.    This beat by DJay Cas is synthed out but has a high energy ‘epic’ feel to it.   Hubbard is the one who makes this track original though.  So often it seems he just takes a beat (any beat) and contorts it into something special.

Spit Gemz – Trained Assassins (ft. Starvin’ B,Carmen Indhira, Shaz Illyork & Eff Yoo)

Why can’t I get a hold of the Welcome To Hellzgate project?  I am about to start a riot.  Every joint I have heard off of this album has been pure heat and this is the best one yet.   Lyrically, this lineup is responsible for bodying this beat from One Take.  Some really great lines and flows on this joint  But really, it’s Carmen Indhira who makes this a great song.   Love the voice on the chorus.  It just really holds all the verse together

We see you down here in Austin, Texas.

Kyle Hubbard – It’s Burning (Video)

The man Kyle Hubbard is back at it again, thank goodness.  I personally think he is the nicest lyricist my state of Texas has to offer.  He has that blend of intelligence and grittyness I appreciate.  His new album, You’re Not That Special drops in two weeks, on March 20th.  And even though, you’re not that special, you can trust that his new album will be.

Critical – Clinical Studies (2012)

Wow. What a nice surprise this was!  I own most of these jawns from Critical, but to see them all in once place is impressive.  The man has put in work, and this project puts that into perspective.  Critical is a very talented emcee on the Creative Juices roster and has an album dropping later this year entitled, Electrical Tape.  My favorite joints are his collaborations with Little Vic which are done under the monniker, Hidden Agenda.

Check this mixtape out.  You are bound to find some interesting gems.

Single You Out: Sutter Kain – Winter Music Part 4 (ft. Mr. Grimm and Donnie Darko)

I am fully on board with the Never So Deep movement.  Sutter Kain (DJ Bless) and Donnie Darko have done so much to impress me over the last six or so months.  I know that I am late on this, but it’s better to be late to the party than never to have arrived at all.

As usual, Sutter Kain, laces a banging beat.  The keys in production remind me of an organ that the Phantom of the Opera would be playing.  The emcees all sledgehammer the track (means hitting it hard).  Really dope music coming from this camp so stay tuned…
