Matt Maddox is from a different generation of emcee and he’s tired of the climate in today’s music industry and not afraid to mince words about it. Maddox has a new album dropping on February 25th entitled, Righteous Fury.
Silent Knight release Holla Burton in 2008 and now he’s re-releasing the project which includes the instrumentals to the original twelve song. Anything, SK puts out is worth listening to and this no different. You’ve got production from !llmind, Analogic, M-Phazes, Jake One and DJ Vadim. That’s some of the illest beatsmiths in the game. New music from Apollo The Great just before the Christmas holiday is gift enough for me. Rio De Janeiro is produced by Linzprag and will leave even the most fickle of hip hop fans flabbergasted. Apollo The Great’s new album is dropping in early 2014 and is entitled, New Jersey Joe. Stay tuned for that but also make sure you check his highly acclaimed album from 2012, Hennessy Diaries.
I had meant to post this when it dropped but life happened and I forgot. But I was reminded when I went back and listened to MaLLy’s most recent project, Strange Rhythm. MaLLy has one of the coldest flows and it’s hard to duplicate the hunger that you hear in his voice. It just sounds like he’s on an unstoppable march to success right now. And with that being said, NEVER steal a man’s mustache. It will come back on you ten fold!

Naturally Born Strangers is comprised of Rich Kidd, Tona, and Adam Bomb. I was actually looking for the release of their new album a few weeks ago and could not find it for the life of me. Now I catch this video for Tie Breaker and learn that you can DL the album for free here.
This track is impeccable. The beat can almost be defined as spiritual and the verses, with the story unfolding, are just plain phenomenal. Any time a song give you the chills, you can consider that a good thing. I can’t wait to give this album a listen.
Always good to get some new music from the homie Donnie Darko and the NSD camp. Darko is really an underrated emcee who spits with a lot of vigor and when he teams up with the production from DJ Bless, heads should just hit the deck. This track is a single from Darko’s forthcoming album, Redemption so keep a look out for that on 02/04/2013.
Another song from Suicide Kings’ Crown Of Thorns album is given the visual treatment providing us with steady doses of boom bap beats and filthy flows. Make sure you check that album if you are feeling this song. I get the impression that it’s flying under the radar.
Dragon Fli Empire out in the Great North (aka Canada) bringing you that old school, fun, and funky hip hop flavor. And we certainly don’t frown upon the fun and funky on HHD.
