Good Gravy! There’s some dope lyricism to be found on this cut right here! This is yet another DOPE cut from the Scribbling Idiots’ forthcoming album, Invitation Only. The emcees are guided by the strings within the production and all emcees drop some dope gems but this line from Cas Metah had me run it back a couple of times:
Leave the street sweeper in the back soldier / Or I’ll be forced to leave blood on the door like Passover

King Mez reminds us that he is pretty damn good and crafting excellent music with the track The Coming. This track is a loosie that prefaces Mez’s new project, Long Live The King II. It will not be on the album. The production by Elite incorporates a lot of different sounds. The piano and vocal sample are top notch as are Mez’s lyrical abilities
Sick Digger Crew in the building! There is so much right going on with this release from Crown (of Grim Reaperz) and Rasco. The beat is amazing with the piano keys just dancing across the hard hitting drum pattern. And let me be honest: It’s been a long time since I have listened to some bars from Rasco and he KILLED his verses. The flow was magnifique. The icing on the cake was Chinch 33 providing the cuts. That man is vastly underrated, but true heads know!

It’s a hustle and a grind, and it’s time to prove the naysayers and the haters what’s what…that’s what I am taking from this video single from Otis Clapp. The track is a high energy, rock infused joint that really easy to get into. Very entertaining. I also need to go on record and say I missed the #Fiona cut he dropped many moons ago, and that song is one of the top tracks this year…no doubt. This new Cunninlyguists track sounds like a leaf in the wind (compliment). It’s very airy, light hearted, almost nonchalant. The track is off the forthcoming, Strange Journey Volume 3 which drops on April 1st.
Broadway Barrett releases his first single of 2014 in the form of, In My Blood. On the track Barrett narrates his desire to survive and succeed so he can keep his plate full . The track has a lot of jump to it with an organ really being the driving factor within the production.
As (sometimes) usual, I am not sure if this track is part of a larger picture, but is certainly worth the listen.
When I first saw this in my inbox I had to do a double take. Was this the Canadian emcee/producer from the late 1990s teaming up with the NYC AllStar Emcee from the same era? Well, I was half right…it is Frankenstein from a couple of decades ago, but it is not the same AZ we are all familiar with. This song is actually circa 1994 and from a soon to be released compilation called The Science Of Sound. I am not sure if the entire project is all old material but we will find out for sure on March 18th.
I am, however, digging this uptempo song.
Another joint off of Illmaculate’s yet to be released Clay Pigeons EP. This time we have long time affiliate, Chase Moore offering his services as producer. I love the keys Moore uses in his production and Illmaculate is just such a well-polished emcee that you just expect the good stuff…and that’s what we get.
Rayce continues to put in work creating new music and videos. Continuum is the lead up to his soon to be released EP, A Travelling Man EP. I am truly surprised more blogs haven’t caught onto the talent of Rayce. This track is very creative in the way that it slows down in the chorus and then picks right up when the verses start…hence the name, Continuum.

Frank Knight is starting to keep me abreast of his musical goings-on and I am glad for that because the man is very talented. Kings N The Crown is a track that can be found off of the Dean’s List On Tour Vol II Mixtape. I can’t speak for the entire project but this track features all of the essentials in the form of slick verses and big beats.
