New single from Slaine’s forthcoming EP, Slaine Is Dead, which is dropping on September 23rd. Pusher, details just that…the life of a neighborhood drug pusher. It’s a short but dope narrative.
Token – Happiness (Video)
Quite honestly this is one of the deepest songs I have come across in a very long time and it is executed to absolute perfection. There is an incredible amount of depth in Token’s story telling and lyricism. It’s one of the few times that I have had to take a deep breath after listening to a song or watching a video. Token narrates three stories, two of which are classmates, and one is his own.
Apparently he has a project called Eraser Shavings just around the corner.
Single You Out: Daniel Son x Acetik x SmooVth – High Noon (Prod. by Vic Grimes)
This beat from Vic Grimes is just point blank, treacherous. I love how the guitar maneuvers through the drums. Daniel Son, Acetik, and SmooVth each put in quality work on the microphone making this song something memorable.
There is no word if this joint is destined for a particular project, but stay tuned!
Single You Out: Hibernation x Darkstar x Spectah – Three-Way Murder

Sometimes I just get lucky and find some new dopeness without even trying very hard. This is the case of the Hellzwind Presents…
This whole project is worth checking but I am approaching you with my favorite track from the project: Three Way Murder. The track features verses from Hibernation, Darkstar, and Spectah and production from Conflikt.
…A million dollar mean mug I’ll wear until I die…
Single You Out: Blak Flag – Revolvers b/w The Rainmaker (ft. Marvalyss)
Blak Flag and his team are all over the HHD radar. This emcee is one of the dopest around with hard lyricism backed by Sherm LaRock’s neck-snapping drums that plays like the Pied Piper with that flute loop. Just leading heads down that boom bap path. I have heard near 20 cuts that involve Flag and they were all dope. I hope you are all paying attention.
On this track we got Flag teaming up with Marvalyss to flip another banger from Larock. Are you getting the picture yet? The two emcees really sound good together. Their voices and their lyrical skill are very much on par with each other so the song is consistent.
Check for Underdog Religion!

Note:
While we all eagerly anticipate M-Dot’s album, Ego and The Enemy, he has released a teaser project once again showing the assortment and diversity of talent. This is old hat for us here at Hip Hop Dependency, but I am sure there are more than just a few of you who will appreciate these dope eight tracks.
You can see the company he keeps on some of these tracks and let me assure you, he was never out shined on any of these cuts. I hope you all can appreciate that talent as much as we do.
Stay tuned for more information on the album!
Single You Out: Shabaam Sahdeeq – Limitless (prod. by DJ Doom)
Shabaam Sahdeeq is back with another single, this time produced by DJ Doom. And what other than complete dope you would you expect from Sahdeeq? He rides the piano infused boom bap from Doom to the fullest extent, setting us up for his next project, Tmeless: of the collection. That’s set to drop early next year.
Reef The Lost Cauze x Bear One – You Know Me Well (Video)
New video from the new album, Furious Styles. Reef The Lost Cauze and Bear One release the video single directed by another ill artist, Skrewtape.
Reef’s music has proved to be timeless. He stays dropping gems.
“…if you’ve beat everyone already, who are you supposed to fight?”
Always bringing that raw boom bap…with dope lyricism.
Single You Out: Blank Face – Jungle
Oh you want some bars? Blank Face has got some bars for you. SoulNewYork provides some production that lies stealthy in the background while the emcee puts in some serious work on the mic. It’s definitely that grimy, yet intelligent east coast boom bap that you need for those ear drums.
Always good to hear some legitimate fresh talent!
