SuperSTah Snuk and Reks take it back to the high school lunch room, where kids used to bang out beats on the tables and set off ciphers to showcase their skills.
The track is off of Snuk’s latest offering, Man Of 1000 Styles.
Singles, Albums, EPs, Mixtapes, and Videos that get the HHD thumbs up.

If you follow the site, then you know we rep a few artists pretty hard due to their consistency in dropping gems. The AbSoulJah is one such artist. If there was one artist that I thought typified that NYC Golden Era sound, it would be Ab. The way he spits. The production he uses. They both smack of that vintage boom-bap.
With that being said, Ab and producer Alf (yeah I’m not sure about the name), dropped a new project around Thanksgiving entitled, RealCore. You should hear what I am hearing if you give the album a spin.
Here’s some flavor from the album, Normally.
Craig G and Menace unite to form the unit, Pair Of Kings. And these veteran emcees are tossing these Silver Daggers in the direction of the competition. This should serve as an instructional video for how rhyming should be done.
The duo is slated to drop an album in 2017 so watch out for that release date.
I was merely looking for some new dope to post on the site and low and behold I stumbled upon Sleep Sinatra and Phantom Janitor’s project, Sleep Meets The Phantom. It’s a short project, but it’s potency rests not in it’s length, but in it’s quality.
I thought I would share a stand out track from the project, Gospel Of The Last Days.
Cas Metah dropped his latest album, Second Wind, a couple of weeks ago, and it’s about time we showed some love. The track, Forget About It, is remixed by Metah’s compadre Theory Hazit, and the sound embodies that of the entire album. Metah is putting all the naysayers on notice when folks might say that he’s too old to be doing his thing. Hip Hop is the Fountain Of Youth and he’s going to continue drinking until the water runs out!
Dope cut!
Blaq Poet and Comet release another heavy hitter from their last album, Mad Screwz. Holding Back also features B Divine and Tragedy Khadafi over a soulful banger of a track.
If you live for that hardcore hip hop like I do, you need to check out the album.
DJ KB, a producer out of Germany, dropped an album in September that I think has completely gone under the radar. Dismember has a lot of dope features with some of that essential boom bap that we are always looking for. The samples that are chopped in throughout the project also show an ear for good craftsmanship.
I think the track, Hell Ground, featuring Mark Deez and Kanis Lu is typical for the type of tracks you will see throughout the rest of the album. Enjoy…
Broken Vessel is the second video from U.G.’s new album, Portals. Again, you will not find a style similar to that of U.G. around. And neither will you find the production stylings of IDE. This project was molded and crafted for years…literally. The ear for perfection can be heard throughout the project. In the video description of this track, the words “mechanical” and “orchestra” are used. That sounds appropriate. This is a “mechanical orchestra” by U.G. and IDE leaving a unique stamp in 2016.
Man, Token, DOES IT AGAIN, with his latest cut, Exception. He displays a deftness at storytelling and conveying a powerful message. A gift that is rarely demonstrated among his peers. The message here: indifference is rewarded as cowardice. If you see a wrong, then right it.
If you don’t have his new project, Eraser Shavings, make sure you cop that. It is among the best this year.
