Point Nine – Gotham City (ft. Masta Ace) (Video)

This joint from Point Nine is legit! The production from Taymak had me instantly nodding my head. It’s got that ‘Indian Snake Charmer’ vibe to it combining a Bollywood headliner with hardcore boom bap. Masta Ace then imparts words of wisdom from NYC with the knowledge of a mentor while Point Nine executes the vision in the streets of Gotham.

The Return of the Point drops sometime in the fall. Don’t even suggest you’re not the least bit curious after hearing this joint.

Single You Out: Supastition – Thanks, Ghost

Supastition is putting together a monthly series called Solitaire, where he will release a song that he alone produces, writes, records, and does the graphic design for.

For the most part, I don’t mess around with these series type projects because they are hard to keep up with, but I do appreciate the entire discography of Supastition. So I am going to give this one a go.

On Thanks, Ghost, Supa pays homage to Ghostface Killah’s storytelling ability while narrating a couple of his own. He flips on a couple of events that occurred in his life while listening to tracks from the Wu-Tang vet. Pretty clever if you ask me.

Take a listen and pass it on!

Single You Out: The Fraternity – Watchers On The Wall (Trey G x Sleep TF x Jus Ra)

Oh shit! It’s been a few years but now we finally get a Fraternity project. The team looks like it has changed up a little bit with the emcees on the Dark Arts Of The Iron Age. But the illness is the same! The production throughout the project is dark yet knocks pretty hard. The lyricism is extremely well crafted by each emcee yet they each maintain a unique style.

This track has a Game Of Thrones appeal to it as do some of the others. Straight illness! Check the full album and pay what you want! I dropped some cheddar on it.

Vic Orena – Problems By The LB (ft. DanO) (Video)

Well this thing is really going to happen huh? New Vic Orena album, Loyalty Electric, is coming and we couldn’t be more excited! This spittery shot at us by Vic and DanO is lucid fire. This song is all about lyricism front and center and these guys deliver bar from bar. Vic had me do the double-take/rewind with the Black Philip line. And DanO…have I heard of him before? Why haven’t I? He’s pretty damn ill.

Don’t know when it’s dropping but best believe I am font and center when the album comes to fruition.
