Ill Bill x Sunday – Warlord (ft. DV Alias Khryst) (Video)

Ill Bill and producer Sunday set it off by releasing their video single, Warlord.   The track pays homage or references the power the warlord possesses through means of fear, intimidation, and violence.  The video and the song play out like a movie of sorts while Bill and Sunday deliver on sound and content, with of course hook provided by the master, D.V. Alias Khryst.

Ill Bill has been so consistently dope over the years, and you can expect that streak to continue with his new album dropping on July 26th.

Single You Out: Jamil Honesty – 7 Crowns (prod. by Slumlord)

Jamil

Jamil Honesty has a new single featuring Slumlord called 7 Crowns.  And the song is laden in laid back aggressiveness.   The production seems very unassuming, but then hits you with some nice subtleties as in a well placed vocal sample and a scratched in Nas hook.  Honesty constantly flexes his way with words which gives this song that razor’s edge.

Also, if you have not checked his album out from late last year, Martyr Musik, that’s a MUST listen as well!

M-Dot & Revalation – Jump Start (prod. by Whatson) (Video)

Is two weeks too late to post?   Never that.   EMS stalwarts, M-Dot and Revalation continue to build rapport over beats with long-time collaborator Whatson.   This isn’t the first time that the crew has connected with the beatsmith, and it shouldn’t be the last if you ask this guy.  M-Dot and Rev give you that lyrical adrenaline rush over some proper hype from Germany’s Whatson.    This is all about creating flames as a precursor to Whatson’s forthcoming album.

Stay tuned!

Daniel Son x Futurewave – Poppy Resin (Feat. Al Divino) (Video)

Let me let you in on a secret…Daniel Son and Futurewave are the best combination doing it right now.  They hit on all cylinders when they chef up some new music.  Whether you listen to Pressure Cooker or Physics of Filth, you will recognize the high degree of talent and chemistry that exists.

Poppy Resin is just the tip of the iceberg off of their new album, Yenaldooshi, which I have listened to twice at the point with more listens to come.  There is a brilliant darkness here that needs to have a constant light shed on it.  Al Divino lends his grimy approach to this particular track and it is indeed flames.

Single You Out: Free Enterprise – The Gospel (prod. by The Kurse)

Free Enterprise is comprised of emcees Supreme Cerebral and Nowaah The Flood and because I have been away for a majority of the month, I missed out on this track and therefore didn’t even know this was coming.  But here you have two ill emcees collaborating with another dope artist in the form of producer, The Kurse.   You can hear the ill chemistry in this soulful cut, appropriately entitled, The Gospel.  It’s contrasting yet complimentary styles.
