New video and single from Rome Streetz album, Noise Kandy 5. Wavy Da Ghawd on the boards providing the melodic while Streetz unleashes that Hell Backwards. Make sure you check the project in its entirety.
Single You Out: John Jigg$ – Cafe (prod. By Kyo Itachi)
John Jigg$ with some Kyo Itachi behind the boards is another winning combination. Jigg$ gives it to you real and brings back that true hip hop sound over a head nodder.
“N%$#as ain’t fucking with Jigg$ not even half way / Play with me get shot in the calf right in the cafe…”
Single You Out: Spit Gemz – The Long Fall Of Icarus
Spit Gemz combines skills, being well-read, and intelligence when making really dope music. You can hear that formula in nearly every cut. And that remains true here over a True Cipher piano driven production with the song, The Long Fall Of Icarus. Always love seeing new music from Gemz.
Eddie Kaine x BP Infinite – No Permission (ft. RIM) (Video)
Eddie Kaine and producer BP have some fire for you, when their new album, House Of Kaine, which drops on October 27th. This is a great union. In my mind, these are two of the most skilled in their profession, and vastly unheralded for their talents. And to have them combine on this project seems like fate.
No Permission has the tandem taking what they are due with a touch of soul, and not asking for any of it. And not to be left out of this write up is Kaine’s long time affiliate, RIM, who is known for his own turn of phrase.
Don’t sleep!
Torae & Marco Polo – Reloaded (Intro) (Video)
A strooooong intro for Torae and Marco Polo’s new album, Midnight Run, which is a fantastic listen! This is that return of the boom bap, or rather, just boom bap hip hop done better than anyone else. These artists do a great job setting the table for the album with an intense salvo of bars and drums.
UFO Fev – Alone In The Streets (Video)
UFO Fev and producer GETLARGE drop it heavy for the track, Alone In The Streets. Fev drops some autobiographical bars about his come up after the loss of his grandmother. The beat bangs and the narrative is telling. Definitely a song that will stick with you.
You can find this joint off of Fev’s new project, Eastside Fev.
M-Dot – Break (ft. Kore) (prod. by Gajos) (Video)
M-Dot exorcises some demons on his most recent single, Break, from his album, Ego and the Enemy 2: A Dissolute Paradise. Life is all about those highs and lows and M-Dot takes you below the heart’s sub-flooring to give you some gritty realism on this track. Bills need to be paid? Wifey questioning your fidelity? Friendships going by the wayside? Feeling that darkness? This is definitely a track you can relate to. Gajos on the beat and Kore on the hook!
Rim – Grassless Snakes (prod. by Big Ghost LTD) (Video)
Some viciousness off of the recently released, Rimbrandt 2: Metal Canvas. And I do mean vicious. Rim is at the top of his game. Big Ghost is arguably the best producer right now. So this union for the track, Grassless Snakes, is indeed a blessed one. The drums and rhymes hit hard on this one.
Make sure you check out the album…OUT NOW!
Torae & Marco Polo – The Return (Video)
Yeah…if you haven’t heard Torae and Marco Polo have linked up for a new album, Midnight Run, that just dropped a couple of days ago. So are you hungry for those hard-hitting drums? Do you appreciate that raw lyrical talent? This is that boom-bap to satisfy your appetite. This is the total hip hop package…The Return.
Single You Out: Swab – The Manual (ft: Josiah The Gift & General Backpain)
The name Swab should be synonymous with dopeness and quality music. The producer has collaborated and laid soundscapes for some of the most talented names in today’s hip hop. I have never heard him deliver anything less than stellar. And now he’s got a new project coming out next Friday called, The Spy Ring. I can’t wait for this. And after hearing this single you will know why. The Manual starts out with a scintillating string sample and then those drums drop heavy as emcees Josiah The Gift and General Backpain unleash tightly woven lyricism sixteen bars at a time.
