Yogy – Mirror Mirror (Video)

Alright, finally a new artist that I hadn’t featured before that I can proudly put in today’s five posts.  Yogy drops a dope and intelligent commentary over an entertaining beat with some well done visuals to boot.  You can’t beat that.

If you are feeling this track, check out his album which dropped a few days ago, Kings Wear Crowns.  Production wise it is reminiscent of The Luniz in the late 90s. I am listening to it now, and it’s different than what I would usually listen to, but it’s got a lot of flavor.

Single You Out: Just Putt – Kazama

Just Putt from one of my favorite crews, Dead Poets, dropped this off a couple of days ago and this was my first opportunity to check it out.  It’s definitely worth the download.  He has a slick flow and raw lyricism.  This track is one that kinds of lulls you into a slumber only to leave you in a body bag.  Smooth production…tough lyrics.

If you are liking this track, be sure to look out for his upcoming The Superman Judah project.

Serge Severe x Zapata – Silver Novelist (2012)

Artist: Serge Severe x Zapata

Album: Silver Novelist

Source: Artist

Tracklisting:

1. Silver Novelist
2. Seasons
3. Dead Poets
4. Casually Obscene
5. Hunger Games
5. Magic-Less World

Note:

When Serge Severe drops a project I take notice.  The man is amongst my favorite emcees with his style and delivery.  It’s something that is as different as it is dope.  For this project he teams up with producer Zapata.  Zapata’s sound is a little less traditional than lets say, Terminill (Service Without A Smile).  His style is ambient and ethereal. And while I may prefer the Service Without A Smile when comparing the two projects, Silver Novelist is undoubtedly worth the listeners time on more than one occasion.

Single You Out: Godilla – Terror (ft. Aeyone, Glomgold, Burke The Jurke & J.O. The Last Man) (Prod Hakiki Bela)

I spotted this track over at TheHipHopHead and was really impressed by how hard this joint banged.  First off, Godilla is that man right now.  Maybe not a lot people know about him but this emcee can deliver the verbal artillery…consistently.

This cut if off of his upcoming album, Altered Beast.  So check it out by visiting the TheHipHopHead by clicking the link below.
