Starvin B material is an auto post here on HHD. He has been from the jump. He’s always delivered high level lyricism but now it seems he is producing joints, and maybe he has been all this time but I can’t recall. Lyrically there is an intermingling of love for his dog, and just life references in general. But all in all this joint is dope as you would come to expect from Starvin.
Ty Farris – Villain With The Smile (Video)
Ty Farris is a name that we should be accustomed to seeing on Hip Hop Dependency. The talented Detroit representative, has a new album out, Enigma WIth An Attitude, and VIllain With A Smile is yet another dope single off of that project, produced by Brooks XY. This song has exemplary word play.
Killing shit, Jason Vorhees with your door keys / Rappers begging for features but they all got sore knees…
Single You Out: Skeezo – The Network (ft. Dro Pesci x D.R.E Clombian Raw)

Skeezo and Whip Beats are cooking again and bring you another grimy banger from their upcoming album, Bad Things Never Happen At A Good Time. Just more boom bap flavor to your face. Dro Pesci and D.R.E Colombian Raw join forces with Skeezo on the mic and deliver heavy hitting pen game.
Single You Out: Grime Lords – Polo Duffle (ft. Supreme Cerebral)

It’s that hardbody hip hop coming from a couple of the heaviest hitters in the Virginia hip hop scene. Born Unique and Pete Twist have been honing their craft and bring you that raw for years as the Grime Lords. Hard hitting drums, and a piano riff lead the way for Unique and west coast powerhouse Supreme Cerebral to lick shots over. This is a tough track and I would expect nothing less.
Heems – Manto (Video)
I absolutely love songs that express the human experience. To me there are fewer things more beautiful in hip hop or music in general. Someone who takes their craft, explores their past in their present, and shares that exploration with others. And Heems hits home, and hits home hard with sharing his family’s story as the video in his words “is an exploration of the inherited trauma stemming from the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan”. You can see the contemplation and perhaps the pain and then the corresponding hope, making this a captivating moment in 2024.
New album Veena coming in a little over a month.
Body Bag Ben & XP the Marxman – Science Spoken (Video)
Two of the hardest working artists in the game come together for a new project called Good Times, Bad Times. With Body Bag Ben behind the boards, and the XP The Marxman on the mic the duo unleash a salvo of that raw hardcore hip hop in the form of Science Spoken. The beat is a banger that leads with a strong piano sample, and lyrically shots are fired at the competition, so suckas and doubters better keep ducking. Raw.
Album out now!
John Jigg$ – Flashlights (Video)
John Jigg$ has a new video out that I meant to get out last week but I got stuck in some things and was unable to update the site, but there’s no wrong time to share some dope music. The single Flashlights, is off of Jigg$ latest project from earlier this year, S.O.U.L., where he really illustrates that he can take the soulful and more thoughtful productions and still produce excellence. The consummate emcee, Jigg$, can rock any beat and create great music.
Murderers’ Row (Reef, King Syze & Outerspace) – 187 (Video) (prod. by Snowgoons)
Yoooooo…when is THIS project coming out! Murderer’s Row is comprised of Outerspace, King Syze, and Reef The Lost Cauze, and produced by none other than the Snowgoons. And to be honest, I had to table to another write-up when I saw this drop. This is the heat rock of the week. Wow! These guys are just stepping on necks, and more vicious in their spit game than ever. With family on the line, there is more to lose, so expect not latitude from these artists.
I won’t just spit on your gave. I’ll do the riverdance… – Reef
Single You Out: Snowgoons – Got What U Need (ft. Joey Majors, Semore Buckz & Famoso)
Snowgoons have been supplying emcees with heatrocks for DECADES fam! For decades! And here you have their latest installation of the 1st Of Da Month, featuring emcees Joey Majors, Semore Buckz, and Famoso. It’s more a mellow flavor, than those hard hitting boom bap drums we’ve become accustomed to but it is no less ill, as each emcee takes a turn showcasing the lane they’ve made for themselves in the game.
Single You Out: J. Lately – Gas Station Coffee (ft. Loe Gino)
Not sure who produced this joint, Gas Station Coffee, but it really fits with the music that J. Lately is most known for. He is great at creating this vibe, and music that just feels good to the soul no matter the topic. Here is joined with Loe Gino, as the two take turns on the mic relating to the perseverance of making good music despite what others may think. They turn self-doubt into the perseverance of talent.
