Skrewtape is making moves and it’s easy to see why. He rides this imperial beat provided by The Wurxs with a certain type of hunger and ferocity that suggests that no one is going to stand in his way towards success. I’m always on the lookout for more material from this exceptional artists and you should share the same mindset. Very few are giving the people that grim, gritty, yet lyrical flavor.
DJ Modesty – Fools Gold (ft. Shabaam Sahdeeq) (Video)
Fools Gold is one of the stand out track from DJ Modesty’s latest project, Brooklyn Kingz County. Shabaam Sahdeeq lends his authentic style to an uptempo banger provided by the aforementioned Modesty.

G dot & Born – God Vibes (ft. Planet Asia) (Produced by Ben Hedibi) (Video)
First off, producer Ben Hadibi laced a straight banger for the trio of emcees to spit over. It’s got a smooth, stalking style yet still snaps the neck. At the same time G dot and Born and Planet Asia each drop some sensational bars for the masses. This cut is definitely a major win for hip hop.

Stoneface – Calico Audio (ft. Freeway) (Video)
Stoneface brings you the latest single from his forthcoming album, The Stone Age, in video format. For this single he connects with rhyme veteran Freeway to conduct a cross town caper that includes an assortment of bars to body the listener. Production is handled by BP.
The album does not as of yet have a release date other than stating…very soon. So keep a look out.
Single You Out: EMS – The Spittin’ Dead (Produced By Soul Infected)
The EMS ensemble gather together to spit over an adaptation of The Walking Dead’s television theme song. And if any unit could pull off something like this, I trust non other than EMS. They have diverse enough lyrical styles to keep the track bouncing and entertaining.
This track serves as Revalation’s second single for his forthcoming EP, Emergency Broadcast.
Termanology – Depths of Hell (ft. Slaine & Artisin) (Video)
Here comes another dope single given the video touch from Termanology’s latest album, Shut Up And Rap, produced by Billy Loman. This track is all about riding in the darkness with the depths of your depravity. Slaine and Artisin each join Term in dropping rhymes from the abyss. Check the album if you have not already.
Illmaculate & OnlyOne – GATTACA (Official Music Video) feat. J-Rome
OnlyOne and Illmaculate are known for making great music but this cut is among the most premium. This is just some really good music period. Chase Moore continues the string of flawless production with this concoction and J-Rome blesses the hook to complete the effect. Meanwhile the two emcees drop incessantly dope lyricism that will at moment leave you a little slack jawed.
This is just a pre-emptive strike of what’s to come when they drop their album this summer, Only & Ill.
Single You Out: Nems – Do It (ft. George Burnz and Danse) (prod. by Agallah)
Nems is about to unleash his latest project, Planet Of The Apes, and this is the latest single from the project. He enlists long time associate George Burnz and Danse to help murk the beat which is incidentally produced by a resurgent Agallah (this name has been ringing extra loud lately).
Worth Revisiting: PremRock – Juliet Has Survived
You know there is so much music being cranked out on a daily basis that I am going to take a step back and appreciate some of my favorite projects from years passed. And PremRock’s 2014 album, A Clean, Well-Lighted Place, is an album that I constantly find myself coming back to. He is just such a distinctive emcee in the way he approaches his writing and music in general. He taps on emotion and borders on the abstract at times, which keeps the listener engaged in ways other artists simply aren’t capable of. There are many great tracks on this album, but the one I want you to latch onto for the moment is Juliet Has Survived.
